They help with the buzz but doesn't cure it.

I've got them on my quads also ...really helps with the lousy grips quads have.

Have had a set for a few thousand miles with good results, but here in So Cal, the ozone in the air seems to have caused them to deteriorate? Anyway, they're sticky and compressed now and will be coming off this weekend.

The replacement will be neoprene grip covers purchased through Parts Unlimited (PN 210-x). They're spilt and held together with hook and loop, so I'm already aprehensive, but hopefully they'll wear a little better.

Grip Puppies from Cal. Sport Touring, make the FJR more comfortable. Very inexpensive. Put a throttle meister with heavy ends on and it really helps the hands.

I've used grip puppies before, but they don't do as good of a job as these. Got them at Cycle Qweer for around $6.00. I like the contour shape, and they mold to my hands.

Grip comparison: Stock, Grip Puppies, and Countour Grips

The Contour Grips are solo grips, you don't slip 'em over the stock ones. So there not bulky, yet do the job of absorbing the vibes.

Love mine...put `em on right over existing grips about a month after getting my FJR.Don't remember the size, but CalSci will tell ya which to get.

The effect I think is 2-fold: 1) foam padding to dampen vibration, and 2) increased grip diameter so your hand isn't as clamped down as it would be around the smaller diameter grip.

Get a set, as others have said they're cheap!!

I put a new set on every year..........

They will compress after a while and just need replaced.....

I'm looking for something to ease the rigor mortis in my hands that occurs after an hour or so of riding the Feej. Some here have stated Grip Puppies are the cat's meow. I'm interested in hearing what others have experienced. And what size fits the OEM grips? Who has 'em cheap? Etc.

And would you recommend something else?

I would recommend the cramp buster. Place it at the outside edge of the throttle and it helps relieve the pressure of gripping the throttle.

I have run the Grip Puppies since I bought the bike, with 17K on it now, I just ordered my 3rd set from here... https://www.casporttouring.com/optimizer/ca...ry/GRIPPUP.html (Small for FJR) Just order 2 sets, then the next year you can start fresh again... I can usually get about 1.5 seasons out of them....

I wouldn't ride without them, those and the Throttlemeister throttle lock, my wrists are in heaven, the vibes were gettin to me before grip puppies...

Disclaimer - I'm suing because ****o gave me Carpal Tunnel :D

I think I may have to try the Contours some time, see how they feel.... can't beat the price thats for sure...

IMO either option is cheap enough to experiment that for sure..

This is as subjective as discussing oil and tires. I've used Grip Puppies several different times and have always removed them after a short period of time.

I believe that doing a throttle body sync and not keeping a death grip on the bars will work as well as anything.

I agree with the throttle body sync, I did it - I just got much more comfort with the larger softer contouring of the grip puppies...

Yes.... def a subjective topic

Has anybody used grip puppies with heated grips? Just curious if/how they worked with heated grips?

Different geometries, different physical responses, different bike characteristics and riding styles, yet a net positive result tend to tell me it's worth a look. They're cheap...almost dirt cheap, so I'll give 'em a try. I'll pay 10 bucks to test whether or not I have to shake my throttle hand loose every 10-15 minutes after an hour of riding. And if it doesn't work, well we'll keep working the problem because there IS a solution out there somewhere. Life CAN be better than it is currently.

I have a set inbound. I'll let you know what happens.

Cheers,

W2

Grip Puppies are awesome. They only last a cpl of months, so order extras.
I have had my set of grip puppies for a year now and they are still going strong. How do you kill yours so fast?
My grip puppies always start to wear out at the point where the heel of my hand touches the grip.

I tend to do a lot of low-speed parking lot maneuvers where my hands are putting in a lot of control input on the bars.
