Yep, hoping to meet ETJoe and the Geeks tomorrow somewhere west of Cleveland. Bust's been busy trying to set something up. I'll get moving maybe by 9 a.m., we'll need to get it straight early tho. Today started cold--34F--in Marquette, but good riding weather. At least till it started to rain again. Looks like tomorrow will be wet too, but it's very pretty here, and just starting to show some fall color. Very long since I've seen that.

Looks like Mike is at the McDonalds in Freemont...(hope Andy isn't lost) I will try to intercept them at the Marathon station, intersection of 20 & 58.

I think I missed you by about the same amount I missed the Rueben Run. Are you going to EOM?
Tom, I missed the Reuben Run, NAFO, and EOM all because of this damn ride. Timing just wasn't with me. Now it turns out I missed YOU too? Geez!

But other than that, it's been all good on this trip. Even missed the major rains that were drowning the whole Midwest while I was still back in the WEST west. Cold some, but cold is the least of the possible "adverse" weather conditions you can hit, IMO. It snowed several inches around Spearfish just a day or two after Ralph and I left. We two rode together for three days, ending up across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan yesterday, when he entered Canada by Sault Ste. Marie and I crossed the Mackinac Bridge and headed for Owosso. Barry and Sheila put me up very nicely. Barry definitely married UP.

Today the rain held up and I headed south to meet Andy and Sooz--the Bikergeeks--for a visit and then a ride to wherever the heck we rode to and connected with El Toro Joe. It was great to meet those three, and later Joe's wife Jackie when we swung by his place. It's really pretty country around here, and if you come from dying-of-thirst and up-in-flames California, it's great to see everything so green and lush.

By the way, Andy recommended a joint near the PA border for a Stromboli, which I took him up on. Ate the whole thing. Nice tip, Andy. Thanks.

It looks like you'll be getting to my part of the country some time Sunday evening. I'm getting the bike ready today to leave for NAFO and EOM first thing Monday, so we won't get together. Enjoy the Northeast.

Rte 20 isn't too bad. It used to be the main route from Buffalo to Erie, before the interstates went in. Goes right past where I grew up too!

Couple more pics from the weekend....

The community players were having auditions and Mike gave it a go..

I'm back in PA tonight. I'll have to watch Mike and see if I can catch him on the return.

Mike, you missed the ******* Pines King fire. It was sure looking hot when I flew over it at dawn this morning. That is Jenkinson Lake to the right of the plume.

We can see the plume from Grass Valley. It grew a lot today Tom, all that smoke was down here this morning...rugged.

Who are the old ugly people with the white hair? What is this? A Nursing Home escape odyssey?
That's right Mark. "Cocoon II." Riding from WNY to CNY Saturday a.m., then a couple weeks visiting and touring in a rented car. The adventure will continue south around the end of the month. Still hoping to meet or see again some forum folks along the East Coast down that way, and ditto along the Southern way home. Tom--shoot me a PM with your location and a cell no. and maybe we can connect after all.
