You guys are cracking me up today.
Seth had just a half day at school today, so I am sitting here wasting my time before we go to The Toy Story double feature.

Alrighty-roo, El Presidente - Back to Los Robustos business! Are your plans firmed up with your family and your work that you are indeed good to go for Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1. Is your Frau going with you on this trip?

I have not contacted Spyderbret and Eeksnake yet, but I will if you believe that you are ready to rumble on 1st LRMC Eat!

If this is a go, we need to start separate thread under Regional Ride Planning here on our Forum. Will the SoCal FJR Riders List Group allow you to do mass e-mailing regarding this mini/maxi-pigout-rally? I've most of the personal cell phone numbers of all the Zonies and I'll just call around the State rounding up players. No problems with Wickenburg lodgings!!!
I will ask LowLevel FJR Pilot send out a note for us. I am set to go unless something at work goes bad. The wife gave me the ok. I know there is an issue coming up but I don't have a time frame on it yet. I am fairly confident all will be good. I am working on the t-shirt thing still.

You want to wait a week, to make sure of this? Can contact Chris / Bret for hotel info only at this time. We want to be sure!

I intend to gain entry to Los Robustos at the Heartattack Grille event on Saturday. I am considering what to order to make an impression on the leaders of this esteemed group....it seems some are gaining admission by reputation and not by deed.....I want there to be no doubt I am worthy.

RadioHowie: I actually did not know that a hamburger could be crafted without bacon, definitely spotted El Tocino on the top.
Wow, what a cool beans deal to score that free food on a regular basis. The pumpkin bread sandwich sounded muy bueno!!!
This caught my eye: " I just finished a breakfast of jambalaya, red beans and rice and a bowl of crawfish etoufee..." Add a couple soft shell crab and Gulf Shrimp po' boys and I would be in heaven. Once had a 7 course lunch and had to save the menu from the waitress after the fifth course -- she was going to take it away! My then girlfriend was showing me the sights in Louisiana. King cake for desert later... I had to marry her after I tasted her shrimp creole.

You Southern guys have it so good.

Got a question in regards to being a member.....when one decides to skip a meal (which I did in my earlier post) in order to better maintain the standards set forth at a later time, and THEN countermands that decision and eats the planned skipped meal anyway, are there any penalties involved?
Quite the contrary! Missing a meal is understood, for the reasons you mentioned, but frowned up. Eating an extra meal satisfies the goals of the club. Posting the picture of that delicious looking sandwich earns you some bonii too.

And, Beemerdons, thanks for the history lesson. This thread is turning out to be highly educational. with language, history AND cuisine all together.
The Irish do get around. women love that sense of humor.... if you have a good Irish tenor voice, all the better. :)

Being 7/8's Irish and the rest German with two adopted kids -- one half Mexican and the other 1/2 Mayan indian I feel at home in this thread.

There was also a later emigration of Stanley's and this discovery drove her wild. She was Protestant, they were Catholic.
And there was the matter of the one Stanley that fought and died in the Saint Patrick's Battalion: For Mexico and against US!

She wanted it swept under the rug, and I being ex-US military was fascinated by it; I have been to the Los Patricios statue.
How interesting! I wonder if our grandchildren will want to hear stories of our lives? My GGM was a real character, born in 1877 and lived for 103 years, maintaning her independence for the majority os those. She was a devout Methodist and blamed everything untoward on Catholics (said with a deprecating shake of the head).

In GGM's late nineties, her daughter and SIL came to live with her, suggesting that she needed full time care. In actuality, his retirement meant that they had lost the home that went with the job. Knowing that the old lady was on her way out, and that they would inherit her house soon, they moved in. She outlived him by many years. On the day of his funeral, GGM came to our house for the day. Instead of her usual ladylike way of dining, she was first to finish lunch and was whipping plates out from under forks. Come along people, we have a funeral to go to!!!
Great story Jill. I used my Grandmother's stories and oral history as directions when I went to the old country, and found her homestead in Tuom, outside Galway. The foundation was there among the 4 farmhouses comprising the village. I had tea with a long-ago cousin before a turf fire, who was still on the property and invited me in. Many Murphy's, O'Brien's and other countless generations in the old family tree. One old story had an uncle dragged behind horses by the Black & Tan's.

Some day I'm going to do more research. My known tree only goes back 5-6 generations, as my mother filled it out for posterity by memory a year or two before she died. After her burial in West Roxbury (Boston), the bunch of us went to a local pub and had a big Irish breakfast and a few shots of Jamesons and Black Bush while we laughed at the old stories. She wouldn't have had it any other way.

Buenos dias johnny80s y ShinyPartsUp: Que tal? Alrighty-roo, the soccer ball is rolling for the very first Los Robustos M/C Chow Down. Post below has been sent to Spyderbret (Bret) and Eeksnake (Chris) and as soon as they respond I will book a room with two beds in Las Vegas for Friday night, October 30. After that I'll book a room with 2 beds in Wickenburg 10/31

Once lodgings are secured and prices known, I'll put all info on Forum Regional Rides & Planning, you handle SoCal listings!!!

Good Morning Chris,
Could you please call me or post me: Home: 480-917-3863, Cell: 480-440-4666 or [email protected]

I have also sent this message to Spyderbret. 10/30 - johnny80s and Los Robustos M/C are looking for your recommendations for a Las Vegas lodging near the downtown action that is reasonably priced and fairly secure for our overnighting our FJR's. Game plan will be to arrive in LV around 6PM. Go out for dinner, drinks and gambling with you two; but nothing seriously late. Next morning I was going to lead the group up to the top of Mt. Charleston for breakfast. After that, over Hoover Dam to Wikieup, Arizona for the very first Los Robustos Chow Down at Joe's Barbecue. We would spend Saturday night in Wickenburg. Next morning the SoCal guys would follow me to the Heart Attack Grill in Chandler, while NorCal guys would ride back home.

Many thanks, Don Stanley

Very nice. I love it when a plan comes together.

OK, looks as though I have no choice but to throw myself upon the mercy of the "Los Robustos" court. I've made several attempts to come up with a name for myself and failed. I should have known better than to ask the wife and daughter!

As far as being qualified, if being Robustos is a requirement, I should qualify. If having the ability to chow down with the best of them, I can do that also (to be proven at the first meeting).

So here is my official request for membership into this esteem club!! But please, I can't take any more humiliation from being slapped around by Pinhead!

Big Dan: My Friend, certainly you're included in Los Robustos. Check in Regional Rides for Las Vegas, we'll pick name there!

Does that mean the name Pinhead's ***** is out? :haha:

A sense of humor helps and 'ya show that. Maybe we can help ya out on a name. What does the D stand for (****, Dump, Desperado?).

Tell us something that may help us help you....

Oh, yeah, I'm good with ya joinin'.

I am aware of the pending eat down, but unable to attend. Working until midnight on Fridays makes it impossible for me to get to Wikieup in time for chow. (19 hour ride if the passes are clear) Same borderline window for getting home in time to go to work on Monday if I just came for Sunday's action. It's not the riding, but the working on either end of the rides w/o sleep between them that precludes participation this time.

I will make it to some future Los Robustos M/C event!

El Neumatico Cuadrado

Along the lines of your forum name, and the KISS theory, how about 'Que Grande' ?

Or since this is a M/C, 'Peligro Que' ?

I like Pinhead's *****. That was funny.

Maybe we should award names after the Meet and Eat. We could make it a ceremony.

By the way El Puto is a fantastic cook. He brought a beef curry stew over to my house last night. The wife and I (and my two year old daughter) thought it was great.

Yumm.
