Okay, now I get it, there really is no other ride other than 191. I can see doing it two days in a row. Or in my case three times, the third time will be on the way home.

Give us more rides.

I will be staying in Camp Verde Wednesday night and will most likely stop at the Starbucks to meet up with you guys. My original plan was to leave earlier than the group and take 260 then 191. I might change my mind if we are going to do 191 Friday and Saturday. If I were to take 191, would it be best to cut east at 78 or better to go further south on 70 and back NE to Silver City on 90?

I was also interested in going north on 15 to the cave dewelings Fri or Sat. Thought that might be interesting for a shorter day ride. So ya, where's the ride post?

https://www.sw-fog.com We are now at 40 bikes and 46 folks for SW-FOG 2014! With 45 days left, there is a good possibility we will exceed fifty ride participants. Ok boys...Some of us have jobs and families too. Quite honesty, I haven't worried about routes because this area isn't full of good roads we can all ride. There are enough for a weekend, but that's about it. Also, all of them are relatively long and easy to map out. My problem is, I know the area, but not by road #, I just know how to get from A to F.

From SC, one can ride north on 180 to 191 and hit Alpine for lunch. Then run down 191 to the three way south of Clifton at 78. That will take you back to 180 where you can turn south and back to SC.

152 is the Black Range that has the potential to be a great road if it's in good shape. It only goes to Hillsboro or I25. If you wanna grab 25 south to US70, you can ride over to White Sands and hang out. Take lots of water, a hat, shorts, flipflops and a lunch.

There are small loops of fun roads that have almost no services but are very pretty. You can take 15 to the Gila Cliff Dwellings and come back down 35 to 152 and back to Silver. There are also the Gila Hot Springs.

I'm not sure about Slot Canyon and some of the other stuff people may want to see. Some stuff, like Snow Lake is gonna require an ADV bike, a long hike, or a 4x4. AND, I'm not even sure any of the National Forest stuff will be open. We got HUGE rains last September which caused a big up tick in the flora and fauna...then we had a hot dry winter that dried all that new growth into nice Spring fire fuel. Because some people are idiots and either light camp fires or toss cigarettes, the Forest Service may close them. Hopefully, it's too early in the year for that, but we'll see.

Maybe I'll get motivated at work and print up some maps, but I'll have to see. This area us simple and anyone that can read a map or use Google should be able to figure it out. Stop stressing over simple stuff.

I will take a scouting ride in a couple weekends and see what things look like, but gimme a few. Thus isn't until after Memorial Day anyway, and I have to find a full free weekend.

Oh yeah...There's the Very Large Array off of US60 east of Datil. A nice ride up and back, and will take a few hours to complete. You could ride to Magdalena for lunch or stop in Reserve on the way back.

Based on this regarding 191 to SC, cutting back to 280 on 78 is the route to take vs. going on South.

As far as I am concerned, two days of riding equals two routes. Other rides can be discussed at the meet on a personnal basis. That makes it easy for your busy schedule AJ and easy for us to decide which to take on a day.

Finally got off my *** and ordered a new tire, made a hotel res and registered today. They still had rooms left at the group rate. Never ridden that area before so it should be fun. See you next month.

This non-posting of event rides is killing me, so I found a gem that starts from Silver City:
https://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/387/New-Mexico/Trail-of-the-Mountain-Spirits-Byway-(Big-Loop-for-the-locals).html

This forum site will not let me copy-paste, nor allow me to type the entire link on this post. Sucks
Thanks GalaxyBlue, it's fixed. IE was blocking me from replying to posts, copy/paste, and all kinds of regular routines I use to do until I upgraded to win7 & IE11. Now I am using Chrome for my search engine.

It is also shaping up to be a large contingent leaving from Camp Verde on that Thursday. Let's have a good time.

If anyone's route to Silver City takes them through Western Colorado and they need a place to stay I have an extra bedroom or two in our house. I live near Paonia where A National BMW rally is held in the Summar. It's great riding in Colorado's wine country and canyons.

Zbear, you are so right about great roads there and plenty of wineries. Is the quaint littleTerror Crk Winery still there? MsNASCAR and I stopped there on our way back from the 2008 NAFO Golden, CO rally. It is up a dirt road off the main hwy but worth it. The Pinot Noir wine was killer.

Two Rivers Winery was 1st class too and wish we had stayed there instead of booking a BNB on a hilltop near town.

Are you going to be showing up at the rally in Silver City? It would be great to meet you.

I just checked the "who's coming list" and spotted you and Ms Zbear on it.

Yes we will be at silver City. Yes all those wineries are still here and even more. Hoping to find someone to ride with though--- most of my buddies either don't ride FJR's or are not interested in long distance riding for one reason or another.

Hey Zbear, It looks like I will be meeting up with Silver Streak from the Denver area Wednesday night. Our plan is to take 285 South toward Silver City. I don't know how Silver Streak feels about it but if you want to divert East a little bit I am guessing you could ride down with us. Maybe meet at Poncha Springs or something like that.
