It's likely as long as I haven't been drinking beer, I'll be joining ya'!

Geewhiz, you list makes mine see so long: fork service (done), install forks(done), serviced Ohlins install (done), Install Admore light harness (done) new brake pads (front done), sparkplugs (done), PAIR plates (done), change oil, final drive fluid, tires, rear brake pads, flush brake fluid, install GPS, RD, and comm electricals, order and install new tires.

No heated garage either - just long-johns and good music...

...and yes, I have to put the shock (ugh, extra reservoir) back on...as well as the forks when it stops deciding to be freezing weather.
Wish I had a nice big heated garage with a motorcycle lift like the griffmeister...

So when you guys roll in, I'll make sure to be standing in the parking lot, gear on, and say, "I know this great little place in Lewisburg WV for dinner, let's go..."

Hehe.. Jim just left my office, he's stoked. But you should have seen his face when he realized it's a little better than a 1000km (600 miles) door-to-door and we'd be doing it one stretch. I think this is double his longest single day ride ever.

I had to settle him down by telling him google has it at 10hrs, I usually take 12, with stops. Now he's talking about leaving Thurs after work to break up the trip. "Naw, just pop some Motrin.. er, Ibuprofen, in the morning and keep riding."

"It should be okay, but we might be swapping bikes, I might need the the 'couch'" he says.

Looking forward to it, were gonna have a blast.
Fixed it for ya Wayne

Wayne,

Since yer done with yers and have some free time, can ya mosey on over and fix me up an all? This wrench work is tuff bidnez.

Hey, speaking of WV, I really want to take him into the deep dark roads of West By God Virginia on the Sunday. I figure Saturday we'll be in my playground east of the Interstate. So who has suggestions for roads across the river? I now 50 is supposed to be pretty good.

I've got some stuff, but mine is mostly the southern half - email/pm Jim - spklbuk - he'll set us right.

Depending on where you want to go, I will be travelling through the state on the way home Sunday. I had a following the last time I came from the ramble. I could show you a few good roads.

Yeah, I think Marty had the bird fully extended at you after that right turn...

LOL! I was thinking about just that as I was typing that post! The chip sealing was special too!

Tell him to man up and put on his big-boy pants. Hell - on the way home from NERDS last year, Ryan - the guy on the Buell - followed us on a 550-mile day on that thing. I have no idea how he did it, but as the saying goes: if you're gonna be dumb, ya gotta be tough.

Tech Day, Wheatey. Bring 'er on up!

Bob, take them down 20 from New Martinsville past Holly River to Webster Springs, then across 15 to 219

& also consider Smokehole Rd. It's better to take from the top (off Rte 28) to the bottom (Rte 220) My GPS software will not route all the way through the road.... like it isn't there. I can assure you that it is.

Yeah, I hope that you have better luck.

The better concentration of good roads are in the southern part of the state IMO.

Rte 250 & Rte 33 are also good bets. The better part of Rte 250 is in VA IMO... but the WV part ain't shabby.

& Rte 250 is a better road than 33 IMO.

If you decide to wander into VA let me know.

Good suggestions all, but this will be a day loop out of Marietta so it will limit just how far we can go. Otherwise I'd head due south to Rte 16 VA and watch him crap hisself.

You may be able to hit Smokehole, then. & I'm quite sure there are a few good roads on the way.

Steve,

We did several fun roads (including Smokehole) on the way home from 2011 ramble. We parted ways in Franklin, WV and I headed home all in the same day. that is a short day compared to what you have in store for the ride down!

Tell him to get a proper sport touring mount...then he won't have to worry about all the crappin'.

He has a VFR, right? Isn't that a Sport Tourer with an emphasis on sport? Actually, I rather much like the newer ones. Nice looking bike.
