It looks some will be staying Friday night, October 16 at the Best Western in Caldwell, OH.

We will be leaving from the Best Western Saturday, October 17 for some serious riding fun. :yahoo:

Departure time and route to be determined and posted later.

I haven't ridden with you guys so I don't know if 1 larger group works or whether 2 smaller groups are better. I will let the locals determine that. Once the route is determined, everybody should have a copy of it with them so they can lead if need be....you know just in case Tom gets a cold

Well, this is gonna be great!!! :yahoo: I'm looking forward to seeing the people that I've ridden with in the past, and meeting some of you that I have not yet ridden with. :friends: I will be looking to split a room for Friday night, anyone interested PM me. :eek:k:

If any other out-of-staters want to room split both Friday and Saturday night, that would be great.

If that doesn't happen to be the case...no other out-of-staters at the moment...I'll be happy to room split Friday night with an in-stater. I already have the room booked, 2 queen beds, non-smoking.

I'll be bringing a 6 or 12-pack for Friday night if anyone is interested in some parking lot refreshments after your riding day is done.

Meetup time for this event.

8am -breakfast at the little restaurant next to the Best Western

8:45 - start riding

Depending on how many people show up, we'll try to get in groups no more than 5 or 6.

Tom will lead, Denny will lead, and I will lead as a last resort. If someone with good skills, knows the roads we're gonna be on, and has led before wants to chime in for leading. I'm good with that.

Denny and I don't profess to be the fastest riders, so we'll lead at our pace, and if a faster rider that knows the route wants to move on ahead, they can be the new leader...unless they go off the route.

So once I finalize the route, I will post it and send the S&T files to anybody that wants them. I think Tom is going to make up some files for those with GPS units as well.

Sounds like a plan!

Let's hope that mother nature is kind to us. B)

Hey! You guys sneak this ride in at the back of a thread about a day ride from August and think nobody will notice? <_<

Actually, I didn't notice. Oh well, I can't make it anyway, got family stuff going on that weekend. Did anybody let Yamaholic know that you guys will be in his neighborhood?

I might be interested.....I know the area well, I ride southeastern Ohio a lot. Problem I have is I'm not a kneedragger, or a wannabe "roadracer", so as a leader I might suck............

I'll ride with ya. If my neighbor comes he wouldn't want a kneedragger pace anyway.

Where in Newark are you? We're both in the Heath area off Irving Wick.

Not trying to sneak anything in there Greg :) Someone on this thread just said to let them know if anyone was interested in doing this again...I let them know...and things have evolved from there. Regarding Mike/yamaholic, I love riding with him, and owe him alot for leading me around SE Ohio several times amongst other stuff, but if he wants to ride, he needs to check in once in awhile.

Corner of Sharon Valley, and Hamilton......was that you I saw Saturday, once in Nelsonville, and once in Junction City....I was riding with a bunch of "cruiser" bikes that have bugged me all summer to take them on a ride.......

I'm in. Maybe we three can get together and ride over. We'll need to get an early start since my neighbors bike is much slower...Amish pass him.

Yeah, I was only teasing. I used to read every thread here, but as the place gets bigger and I get busier, I have become selective. And you're right about Mike, I haven't seen him post anything in quite a while. Hope all is well with him.

I'd like to attend coming from Indy. However, coming back from a Smokey's trip the 12-16th and don't know if I'd be up for it right after that. Sound like fun though.

Nice one SLOsey!

Those 2 seat sport carriages are fast.

As long as they don't schedule any hockey games for that weekend on me I'm in. I gotta go find a slow moving vehicle triangle for Jim now...

I know exactly where you're at. I pass through that way about 5 times a week heading to the ice rink to coach. Oh and that wasn't me on Saturday.

I have created a Mapsource gdb file of the route for anyone w/a programmable gps.

PM me with your email address & I will send it to you.

Tom

Hey Tom, No GPS but hopefully I can hang on for dear life so I won't get dropped off the back. Just wonderin if you were able to get any of the group we rode with last time to come along too.......................Dave
