I know this thread has gotten a lot of traffic, but thinking it would benefit if moved to the WFO thread a bit more. With this juicy softball of a Saddle Sore George has offered up, I think it's begging to be hit out of Reno into the surrounding state of Nevada by some of the folks that are dwelling in the WFO thread.

There will be a moved link still in LD/IB so that people can see it moved. And, I'll pin it over in it's new home.

Woodstock:
The $7 is MY cost to put this all together. I've been given a special rate from the IBA so I can give you all the extra goodies at the same price as a normally submitted SS1K.

You're welcome.
And (belated) thanks! This is very cool, and a not-insignificant amount of work, I'm sure.

(Does the $44 via paypal also cover the $7? - I'm still a little unclear on that (is there a downside of just sending the $7 now?).

Jeez Louise. < edited due to poor math >

$42 TOTAL.

$42 now and a certificate will be waiting for you.

$7 now and upon completion of the ride, you'll owe me $35, but you'll wait 3-4 months for your certificate.

$42 TOTAL. The whole, entire, complete enchilada.

And no matter what amount you pay up front, if you DO NOT complete the ride you get NOTHING back.

We straight now?

So,

It goes up $1 each time you have to explain it again? :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

I think the confusion stemmed from the fact that $7 and $35 added together will equal $42, not $45. I'm missing out on WFO, so I'm not trying to be picky about the $3 diff, just trying to help with the source of confusion.

Hope you guys have a great time out there. And send Rad back to the midwest in one piece, willya?

Thanks for the update. Should we add anything to the $42 (or $7) if we paypal to cover the paypal charges?

Woodstock.

Read my very first message in this thread, you'll see that $44 is the Paypal price.

I never thought anybody would Paypal $7 dollars, but if they want to, they should send $7.50

GZ

No kidding Radman. No kidding.

Ladies and Gents!

Due to confusion and misunderstanding, the $7 option has been cancelled. Only Paypal is now accepted, and everything I need info wise is on the paypal receipt except year of bike. No need to send a snail mail application.

Please read the ( edited ) first post of this thread for updated sign-up info.

See you all in Reno for a GOOD TIME and no squawking about a few dollars.

Ya dig? Sho nuff.

btw: I hope the route takes into account that many of us don't have fuel cells?
I heard a rumor that everyone who participates will get a Dean Tanji fuel cell in their "goody bag"....

(of course I just thought that up and started the rumor, but what the hell, I'm desperate...)

OK Kids.

I've had some PM about some things, so here is some general info.

Riders meeting will be at 7:30 pm on Thursday night at the same place the registration table will be. Route directions, rally towel, and last minute advice/ info will be given out.

If you can't make that meeting, let me know. I'll do my best to be available and semi-sober.

ALL SS1K riders are encouraged to leave at dawn ( 0500 ) on Friday. The speeds available on this route should allow any efficient rider to finish it all in the daylight.

Best of luck to you all.

GZ

I have wanted to do SS 1000 this year. Some minor health issues seem to be behind me. I have been working on my phyisical conditioning. I want to be at the Hilton for both Friday and Saturday night dinners. No one knows the route or the speed limits, so the question is can one start earlier than 500 am :dribble: on Friday?

I am getting in the frame of mind to 'Go For It'. TJ :yahoo:
