I have wanted to do BB 1000 this year.
Small point of order: that's "SS 1000", not a BB 1000. There is no such thing as a BB 1000.

Rather, the rides are:

SS 1000 ==> SaddleSore 1000 ==> 1000 miles in 24 hours

BB 1500 ==> Bun Burner 1500 ==> 1500 miles in 36 hours

BBG 1500 ==> Bun Burner GOLD 1500 ==> 1500 miles in 24 hours

Anybody going home to the East Coast... Reno to Kansas City (almost entirely on Interstate 80) is just over 1500 miles... in case you've been thinking about a BB or BBG (I'm doing a BBG on my way home...).

ThrottleJockey.

You can depart whenever you want after getting your rally towel and rider briefing.

Even if you're not the fastest rider, as long as your not a slow-poke, a dawn departure should see you running in mostly daylight, and back for dinner.

But no matter, departure time is your decision entirely.

Hope you can ride the sucka.

I am going to ride the suckar. I have riden with Madmike2 and Rogerfaster TurboDave. I don't want to miss the Friday Dinner and the Social aspects of the Hilton.

It is the math. :dribble: 1000 miles leaving at 5 am to 5 pm 12 hours = 83+ mph average (including stops)

14 hours (7 pm dinner time) 71+ mph average. Inbetween is probably realistic baring unexpected problems.hat would be the reason foran early start. Odered a Poloroid 600 $35 Photo Superia

The only time I almost had the inside view of the Pokey my friend (now retired PO)Sparks Co LEO told me to tell my friend "Tell Bullit to park it in the alley". His call to the San Pablo PD got us both under age guys out of a possible Felony jam when I was supposed to be camping in Mendocino. :dribble:

I don't want a repeat in this lifetime. :p :rolleyes:

For a small fee you can get a duplicate license. That can be handy. ;)

Hey someone, I won't mention names, called the SS1000 and anyone who rides this SS1000 GAY!!! It came off the WFO Big Dog ride route. Sounds like fightin' words to me. But I guess its ok for them to follow each other around on a specific ride route holding hands. JMHO

You can tell the 'someone' that the only thing GAY about this ride is his ass ... and tell him he probably needs new cards clothespinned to the spokes on his Schwinn. :glare:

Tell him he can voice an opinion AFTER he completes his SS1K. Period.

don't diss my schwinn, dad....just got it....but, am out of the free beer I got out of the deal...can you help with that, dad?

Odot, you said that ? You said this ride is Gay? :eek: :eek:

Now I know why Nut told me to bring Boudreaux's Butt Paste. ;)

So - have you signed up? :crazy:

So, who's going on the "1000 Before Dinner" run?
MD, BigDolma and I have signed up - gonna do a team effort !!

I don't know who da udder folks is .... maybe they can post?

Ya'll hittin' it Friday?

That's the plan. BigD is riding up from home on Thursday - so he should be well rested after his little 500 mile warm up ride - and TurboDave, Bluestreek and I will be arriving Wednesday night, following our 5 day Pacific Northwest Romp (formerly known as the California Dreaming Ride) which will give me Thursday to rest up, and perhaps make myself useful, if not entirely irritating to the WFO sponsors and team. :blink:

Then at 0 dark hundred on Friday AM, BigD and I will head out !! Polaroid, Boudreau's, and debit card at hand !!

U doin it?

Yeah. I plan an early start from home Thursday, followed by an early night, followed by a zero-dark-thirty start time for the "1000 Before Dinner" run.

OK I am in but what the hell is 0 dark thirty?

[That saddle sore is gay! Home in time for beddy-bye....Whatever. Ours took 22 hours, 15 minutes and we were working hard at gettin 'er dun!

Isn't there a minimum time amount per IBA guidelines? Seems like they wouldn't condone average speeds over a predetermined amount. That was one of them rhetorical questions, BTW....What do I care if someone wants to travel all the way to WFO and go run hot freeways all day.]

Here's the quote from the individual from the Big Dog Ride thread.

When I've used it in the past, "O dark thirty" means early... like reeeeeeal early. Way before the sun comes up kinda early.
