Sorry to hear of your troubles.....

There are a few things that I don't mind going to my dealer for - I have worked with them for a while, and so far they will match any online price I can find - and that is before shipping.

Also keep in mind that most credit card companies will back you up on online transactions - and sometimes offer up extended warranty on products.

Paypal is a really rough place to get shit settled, I try to use them as little as possible for purchases....

I'm gonna sleep on it. I got 30 days and I hate making decisions when I'm pissed off.

I FINALLY!!! got a day off and took the time to install some goodies.

I installed a set of MondoMotos MM10 bullet LEDs on my forks. At the same time I wired in a battery tender pigtail (mostly for my Aerostich Compact Compressor) and wired in the Zumo 660. I was able to tie all that into one nice, reasonably neat installation. The Zumo is actually wired into the relay for the lights so that nothing except the pigtail has power when the key is off.

Of course, the Zumo needed to mount on something and I happened to have just the thing due to the generosity of a couple of our forum members.

I will need to do some adjusting but for now these look really good. I had great service out of the MondoMotos on my Honda ST1300 and have been running a set on Dad's FJR for a couple years now. They have updated the lights a bit and added a waterproof cover over the switch. I like them.

I also had a day off. Well, I took one off anyway...

I used mine to ride up to the mountains and grab an ADV tag. The tag was in North Conway, in the heart of the white mountains. There is a tourist train station there there that has a butt load of old locomotives. I had to seek out the one shown here, #4266, which was well hidden in the back of the pack.

For my new tag, I opted to re-use a previously used location due to its significance to the holiday weekend.

When I pulled in, the guard told me that there were two services ongoing and asked if I was there to attend either. I said no, that I was just here in observance of the Memorial weekend. I was careful not to disturb the families. It is, unfortunately, a fairly large facility.

The motto of the ship that I served on (AO99 USS Canisteo) is one I carry with me always.

"If freedom was easy, we wouldn't be here."

edit - Oh yeah, forgot to mention... There was nobody, and I mean NOBODY on the Kank this morning. Had the place to myself. Felt a little sorry for all you stiffs that had to work. Ha, right?

Took my 14yr old grandson on his first ride on a motorcycle. A little apprehensive at first, but was loving it as soon as we got moving down the road. First thing he asked, after we had finished, was " How old do you have to be to ride a motorcycle?". I told him to learn a car first, then we'll talk motorcycles.

His mom is going to strangle me.

I am going on a group ride today with all the Hardley brethren. I am not even going to clean the bugs off the bike. It's filthy and stayin that way for the ride. Now where are those ear plugs?

Dave

Installed my new SW,Mototech sliders then rode her about 270 miles. Working on breaking in my Laam seat.

Changed the oil in preparation for SWFOG and then wired up and tested the heated RDL seat. Mmmmmmmm toasty... just in time for summer?!?!? At least it will be ready for the fall.

Rode about 80 miles up yonder to Virginie to have lunch with a bud. Went over some plans for a ride to Mobile, AL next month. Then took the long way home- about 200 in all.

Washed about 10 pounds of South Louisiana bugs off of it.

I felt really smart washing it in the rain. Of course when I tried to dry it in the rain, not so much.

I cannot stop staring at the damn thing. This bike is gorgeous.

Took the 12yr old daughter on her first big ride. Over to Indy to the Cycle Gear store. It was about 100 miles over and about 140 back. We took the long way home. Since it was Memorial Day weekend and Indy is kinda busy with the 500 in town we saw more traffic than we wanted to. The weather was great. I appreciate the generosity of the board members here that have outfitted her in gear. She said she really like the backrest. The Jacket was also from a member.

Over at Cycle Gear, I had a problem with the boots that I bought this winter. On the trip to Arkansas, they developed a crack across the top of my foot. They took them back and I bought a pair of Alpine Stars. Wow, they are really much nicer than the Sedici ones. I also asked them about my speaker in my helmet that intermittently goes out and comes back on. They swapped the 1 year old helmet with no questions asked. I asked her while we were there if she wanted to look at any of the gear for her, She said "what I got works fine."

We headed out with no plan other than to hit a Starbucks somewhere on the way back. She is a huge fan of their Salted Caramel Cake pops. I can see why after a taste. I was going to take some pictures, but she asked that I don't since her hair was "rachet" We hit the road and took all the "curvy" roads back. Rolling through the town of Covington Indiana I just swung in and insisted on snapping this one in honor of the trip and more importantly the day.

Ride on

Don't tell anybody, but I love taking my 12 yr old step daughter for rides. She's all hyper at the start and talks my ear off in the Sena, then she starts to shut up, and starts singing. Out loud. She eventually, goes quiet. Right about that time I know she about to fall forward and ever so lightly conk the back of my helmet when she dozes off. That's also about the same time I start talking to her to wake her up. Those conversations usually end when she asks me when I'm gonna marry her mom.

She's a hoot, waves at all the bikers going the other direction. I never told her why we do that. She just saw me doing it and started doing it too. Then she started waving at ppl in cars, pedestrians hell anybody. That girl rocks.

If you marry her mom, you don't have to have the conversation end.

But here's to good riding pillions, young and old.
