Reading about "putting her to bed" always makes me thankful for living in the South. Almost makes July-August worth it.

LKLD posted: I also rode to work. It's funny how I ride all careful and all when going to work, and then ride like the devil on the way home.
Funny, I did, too. Rode home exactly as you did, inspired by temps in the 60s, Friday, and Halloween mischief on my mind.

I've lived here for two summers...haven't found them to be horrible. Can you tell I work in an air conditioned office?

Anyway, I love the greatly extended riding season. :)

Went for my annual Autumn seafoam run prior to storage.

(Yeah, you Southrons just yuk it up! Wait until global warming catches up with ya, then we'll see who's laughing!)

Sunday: Rode her 567 miles in rain varying from drizzle to drenching, in 50-60F temps. Got home well after dark. There's nothing like 90 minutes of congested 5-lane freeway, at 70 mph, in the dark, in the rain, in the cold, after 8 hours in the saddle already.

My riding partner for the day, rpm, from Macon, kept uttering the word "adventure". He's deluding himself. Every time we've ridden together it's ended with one or more of these characteristics: wet, cold, dark, and ending far later than planned. When he figures out this pattern, I'll be riding solo again!

I rode it to Harbor Freight. But it seems like if I ride less than 100 miles it's hardly worth talking about.
