What did you do to your FJR today?

Waiting for Garmin Zumo 660 to replace my dead Zumo 550. Added ram mount extension to raise GPS a few inches. Rear PR2 comes today (Already have a front PR2 to mount). Handlebar riser coming tomorrow. I went cheap on her and got the Gen Mar's. I believe they will raise her bars up just right. That's all I'm doing for her today even though she deserves more. ;)

Installed the MV Motorrad adjustable risers. Me likey. Unfortunately, the RAM Bone mount had to be removed as the new riser plate won't clear it.

After installation I rode 500 and something miles. Decided the Airhawk 2 has to go and I need a Russell. The Zumo 665 will have to wait.

Installed a nice set of used 2001 FZ1 mirrors and a new Ram Mounts 1" "Tough Ball" on the threaded stem nut.

My slightly dented 03 mufflers from ebay arrived today. I did the Trooper mod and took a short run, so far I like!

After looking at the area now visible, I think there may be quite a bit more that can be done with the stock cans!

Put a hole in my gas tank!

On purpose, so I could install a bulkhead fitting for my fuel cell. Gotta say, my heart was in my mouth the entire time, just hoping I didn't screw it up.

All went well, no leaks, and I now have another 4.7 gallons available when I need it.

...clicked her over 10,000 in the first 11 months of ownership.

It's no big drama for anyone but me. For various reasons, my annual mileage has suffered a lot in the past 6 years. Largely because I'd sold my former sport tourer and just wasn't riding the sportbike nearly as much. So, 10K in 11 months, on a comfortable steed, feels like "I'm back!" If you know what I mean<g>.

That raises another question... Haven't decided if it's a he or she yet. Thoughts?

I got a used Russel front seat about a week ago, took all my risers off (I had double stacked D&D's, out not up) and did the Barbarian mod two days ago. Got a longer ride in yesterday, seat is the best I've tried, trooper mod sounds good with +7 more fuel and it just runs a little smoother! Still some vibrations around 70mph, but tolerable. Before, I couldn't hold my head up high and eat up tons of miles on a highway, after 45min-1hr my *** and hands were killing me, I'd constatnly look down and realize I was unintentionally rolling off the gas. Now I'll go mess with the Coocase wiring that is loose.

I gave the old girl her bi-annual bath this morning, then I went really crazy and actually applied car wax to the tupperware!

She still cleans up pretty damn good, eh?

Ah... Bass Bote Blue Beauty in the morning light!

Got my wife a little nervous. I don't usually do this much cleaning and polishing unless I'm getting ready to sell a bike. :p

But no, this bike's still a keeper. ;)

I planned to change my oil 300 mikes early. Also was going to install a brodie and road runner harness. The forecast was to damn hot. The official temp here got to 107 and I saw 111 on my back yard thermometer. I couldn't justify working outside in that heat while spending so much money to keep the house cool.

So, all I did to my FJR today was ride 40 miles for a box of fried chicken.

Pulled the front and rear wheels today. Knocked off all of the existing weights and rebalanced the wheels. Re torqued all required nuts/bolts back to factory spec. Someone was practicing their weight lifting routine when they installed the wheels. Probably some strong arm shop technician.

Got an Autocom Logic Independence system for my birthday yesterday and today was the day to do some wiring and find a good spot to build it in. Used the spot where toolroll normally is to place the Indepence control unit. Got the needed power from the rearlight and I added a cable to the glovebox, so I can plug my phone in there without needing to lift the saddle.

Tested it a bit and it works like a charm. Tomorrow I'm gonna ride to work on the FJR and give it all a real try :)
