435 miles today for MikeP and Pants. Wonderful ride around Toledo Bend and the Kistachie National Forest. We met JonJonBoo along he way. Mid 70s all day. Good time

Shoulda, coulda, woulda but instead stayed in the garage changing all the fluids while getting caught up in the ending of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Finally removed the weak, cheesy SHAD top box mounting system and installed the Givi SR357 mount. I liked the latches on the SHAD box and I thought it looked good on the bike. But the Givi SR357 is 1000% stronger.

The SR357 mounted:

It looks like it was built for that bike. Are you going to add lights?
Thanks. I thought it went pretty well myself.

I have not made up my mind about the lights yet. If I do install lights on mine, then I am obligated to install lights on Dad's as well. My life would be so much easier if I were not so lazy.

Made it dirty. JSNS.

Rode it up on the sidewalk, within 6 inches of the brick-and-bronze sign, to get the "Coliseum" bonus photo for Big Money Rally 2016:

Just left of my placard: "On this site from 1956 to 2011 stood the Alexander Memorial Coliseum ..." Got credited for the points.

Rode it to Daughter's to fix her washing machine. That wasn't broken. To find and fix the water leak that Son-in-Law had created trying to fix the washing machine that wasn't broken.

Managed to wind it up in third :) on the way back home.

No one warned me how much work this retirement gig was. I had to get out and wash off all the road splooge this morning, while most of you relaxed in the office.

Well it wasn't today but over the weekend I got in a ride just before the snow started. We (myself and a buddy from work on his 'Wing) did about 425 miles. We went South to Pueble, then east to La Junta for lunch. After lunch we went a bit further East and then headed back North. The temps ranged from 48 when we left here (Denver suburb) to 74 in La Junta and then to 36 by the time I got home. Had a great day, broke more than a few speed limits and only passed two cops. One of which flashed his lights at us as he went past. But thankfully, he didn't turn around to come have a face to face with us. :) It's pretty much been cold and snowy since then. Oh well.

This morning, while prepping my bike for today's ride (which may or may not actually happen), I got inspired. I just nervously submitted an idea I've got for a Favorite Ride article to Rider Magazine. We will see what they think.

On this Mardi Gras State holiday, today's ride would be best served with my wife as pillion. It's windy though and I'm not sure she is up for it. Fingers are crossed....

Went to the garage and looked at it. We're seeing some low 40s and the ice in my driveway and street is melting. There is hope I may be able to get it to dry pavement without dropping it by the weekend. I don't want to have to experience trying to pick it up while standing on ice (or in slush?). Actually, this sounds like a better mission for the 'Strom.

Rode it in a freaking blizzard. OK, a few snow flurries. Kind of cool how snowflakes stream right at your face like little tracer bullets.
