Dropped it off at the dealer on my way home, for the 600 mile service...it's got 726 miles on it.

Joe, your bike is destined to fall apart. You missed the service interval by 126 miles. Mother Yamaha won't be pleased with you!

Rode the FJR about 100 mikes after mowing the lawn and finishing the GIVI plate mod and install on the Wee-Strom. All is good, packed and ready for the cruise.

Working late tonight and the machines are running on auto pilot so black betty got a bath bam ba lam...

Changed a tail light bulb and bled from my knuckles.
I feel ya. Question: If you bark your knuckles doing something that ...small... is it still okay to swear?
Oh yeah, sure is! I had to replace one in an Advance Auto parking lot 550 miles up the road. I tried, my riding buddy tried, I tried again. We had quite the audience by the time we finally got the deed done. And free wipies for the skin leakage.

Got to ride a few times this winter and all was fine. Took it out a few days ago, it was 80 degrees here, and the rear ABS didn't work when I started doing my spring braking exercise at the mostly abandoned Hanger Row at Coldwater airport. I was surprised how easily the rear locked up.
Brought her home after stopping for DOT 4 and flushed the clutch and all the brakes several times hoping to restore ABS function but no dice. Fluid didn't look all that bad, some slight brownish discoloration compared to the new stuff but I guess it was enough to do the deed.

Anyone ever replaced brake fluid with PB Blaster temporarily in an attempt to free up the ABS valve body ?

OK, I may be back in business. Did ionbeam's Test 2 on the ABS 5 or 6 times. Got a dimly lit 1hz flashing abs light while in test mode. Checked for codes and I had abs 11. Cleared it and went back to test mode, now brightly lit 1 hz flashing abs light. Both front and rear functioned as described all times but the brightly lit indicator after clearing gives me hope for the upcoming test ride.

Thanks to both ionbeam and rbentnail for the info !

Picked the '15 up from the dealer where I had a set of Michelin PR3s installed. My impressions and opinions: PR3s are not as nimble as the PR4s. They stick just as good but they are more neutral handling. The PR4s are more "anxious" to get leaned over. PR3s ride smoother/softer.

On the way home I parked Scar at the Indian dealership and took a Demo Ride on an Indian Chieftain. I really love the look and the sound and the whole Indian situation.

I happily jumped on Scar afterward and went for a tire scrubbing ride.

Installed the radar detector. Piece of cake.

Gave up on the Powerlet battery wire for the GPS. The factory connection to the transformer (Tom Tom runs on 5 volts) has something loose in it. What a disappointment. I'll just use the cigarette lighter socket for SEOR and when I get home, I guess I'll start shopping for a new GPS. Looks like the Tom Tom Rider changed the software on the new units. And I LOATHE the Garmin software. Not too happy about it.

Rode about 250 miles with GSquared this morning. Had a nice "spirited" ride though south central Louisiana. I cooked a nice rabbit yesterday in a brown gravy so we wound up at my house for leftovers lunch. Pretty darn good if I don't say so myself.

I'm just short of 9,000 miles on this FJR. By the time I get back from SEOR, I'll be pushing 13,000. That will be 12,000 miles in 6 months of ownership (I bought it with 1400 miles).

Now THAT's the way to ride an sport touring motorcycle....
