So I just got back yesterday from KFG Racing, who did the GP front forks and Penske rear shock upgrade from the group buy. The 150 mile ride home was a blast and gave me a real appreciation for the investment in the upgraded suspension. I can't wait to roll on the miles this summer!

Oh yeah, this happened to me the other day whilst gassing up for the week's commute: you know when you have a leisurely day and you take a leisurely ride how you tend to look around a lot more and see stuff and you tell yourself, "self, now there's something you don't see every day"? So I fill up and as I'm throwing my leg over some guy from a pump over yonder comes over, helmet on & tinted visor down, and throws out his hand like we're long lost buds. Of course, I have no frikkin idea who this dude is but I shake his hand, rudely, without standing, 'cause, well, I'm riding a bike. So the dude yells through his visor something like, "man, I seen the V46 sticker on your trunk there and anybody who's cool with Rossi is cool with me!" He's pumping my hand like he's gonna get milk from it and I have no idea WTF he's talking about. Then poof! he's gone so I take a moment to try to figure it all out & realize- it's a Givi trunk. Model V46. Has a sticker on the side. What a dork....

You see? I TOLD you that Givi was going to be a good thing. Now you have made new friends AND increased your coolness factor!

May I suggest you paint that V46 insignia bright yellow? That will complete the "Valentino 46" illusion.

Yes, yes you did. I recall you said something like, "all the cool kids are doing it! <in my best Thurston Howell III voice> 'you simply must, Lovey!' "

I had no idea you actually knew what you were talking about. I'll seriously consider the yaller highlights, hi-viz something-or-other. Maybe I'll get it tattooed on my butt. Someday I'll be able to show you my motor-sickle racing enthusiasm.

Honest mistake. I always figured that GiVi did that on purpose.

Funny timing, today was getting ready for my new Givi V47 and SR357 by peeking through the directions sizing up things for install soon.

I'm more worried about how many times Cal Crutchlow has crashed this season in MotoGp with the big GIVI sponsor livery on his bike. Hope it's not bad ju-ju.....

Wyn-pro PAIR plates (thanks Dave) and first throttle body synch check. Getting close to first 4k service. Were all within 5mmHg. Did tweak them a little while I was in there. #1 had the "white paint" on the screw. Managed yet again to not create an environmental incident with my "classic" Carb Stix.

Prepare the list of part needed to go to the air show at "la ferte alais". To see more than 100 old airplan, static on the morning, and on the air the afternoon.
So I need to prepare of folding chairs, for me and two friend who will be on a FZ6 plus Plachettes for crutches, plus the picnic plus plus plus ...
Tomorrow will be a long day

Put Grip Puppies on...and will be taking them off. They make the grips way too thick. I think if they were 1/2 the wall thickness they'd be OK, but it borderlines on dangerous. $20 wasted...

Yeah, except for the "dangerous" part I didn't like them either. The huge grip made my forearms ache. I went with Pro Grip #714 from Revzilla. About the same diameter as OEM but squishier. And for the price I install one yr, rotate 180 deg. the next, then replace the next.

ETA: motorcycle superstore has them in RED!!

Thanks for this - I put these exact grips on the KLR a few years back & forgot who made them. I do like them for the reasons you mention.

Red would be absolutely gauche on my bike. Might as well be Barbie pink

I am assuming I have to cut the stock ones off...what about the heated grip internals? Words of advice?

Thanks!

Can't help you there, I tough it out without grip heaters.

First 4k miles oil change completed, last item on the service left to accomplish. First time I have ever gotten it done & leak-checked without knocking the 10mm comb wrench holding the side cowl "out" into the drip pan.

Took a sample & sent in to Blackstone. Serviced with 15w40 Rotella and Yamaha filter. Printed out a picture of my odo & stapled the receipts to it.
