1. ^^^^ On my Gen I I didn't use the ADVMonster brackets, I have some substantial and braced brackets that I was using on my 20 lb/ea PIAA lights and just swapped over to LEDs. Unfortunately they are Gen I specific. They will be offered here pretty soon. Hopefully sometime I'll have some WinPro brackets for my LED lights which are waiting to be installed.

2. Finally rode it in the rain today, the first time with the new bike and got that out of the way. It's a mess.

3. Substantially slid the rear tire on a corner coming home

I haven't slid like that since the last time I had a BT-023 on my rear wheel. I just checked my rear tire pressure, it's 43 psi. Ambient was 62 and the road was dry and clean. It wasn't a heart attack moment and the slide was controllable, but still....

Alan - welcome back to the "I can't STAND the BT-023 tire and I wish with all my heart that Yamaha would not use them as an OEM tire on FJR motorcycles" club.

We've missed you.

^^^Lol!^^^ I am a grandpa, but apparently I ride like one too! I haven't even had a hint of slide out on my BT-023's yet, not even on the Dragon <insert 10 mph hairpins here>

^^^^ Cat fight!!
Yesterday, I put the new tail section on the bike, started messing with the GPS and it is all hooked up and ready to go. I just need to spend some computer time and get some SD cards leaded with the correct maps. Use the cards as sections for where I am going to be riding.

My next project absolutely has to be a fuze block. I have 6 wires going to the Pos terminal and 5 going to the Neg. I had to change screw length to get all those under the posts. But between the heated grips, HID lights,Heated Gear, GPS power, phone charger, and various other stuff, it is difficult to get the plastic back on over the battery.

Oh well, that will have to wait until after SEO.
I really like my PDM60 for just this reason. No more fuses to burn and carry around.
I'm trying the Neutrino Black Box made by Aboreal systems. Pretty similar concept. Also has a built in relay input. I was able to use the stock horn switch as input to switch a circuit on for the FIAMM Highway Blasters. No extra relay required. It has a temperature probe so you I can automatically actuate the circuit for my Gerbing vest based on ambient temperature. At 50F I get 15% heat. For every degree in temp change beyond that I get another 1% power to the vest. You can also program circuits based on sunrise/sunset and velocity. It's all programmed and controlled via Bluetooth and a phone app.

Found out today, that my check engine light works...
Hopefully just the kick stand like the rest of us....
Hope to get it taken care of before leaving for SEO, Friday morning.
If your cruise is still working it's probably something simple like the side stand. The techs were telling me if it were something like an FI system issue the system would automatically disable the cruise.
Have not tried the cruise since the light came on...the bike is still running great. I believe it is the side stand switch, that seems to be the only cause so far, that I know of.

It's interesting that no one who has had the side stand issue has had it come back?? I wonder what's triggering it. In my case I was just farkling in the garage starting and stopping the bike while it was up on the center stand. I did have the side stand down at one or two points. Maybe if rear wheel is moving for a long enough time with the stand down it triggers an event??

I had no issues at all. Went out on the bike, to pick up some things for the wife. Came out of the store, started the bike, and the CE light has been on since. I wouldn't think that riding it 250 miles back from Tech Day in the rain would have anything to do with it...

Changed Brake and clutch fluids. Expected worse as its never been done on this bike as far as I know but it did show some signs that it was water contaminated. Hint old is on left new is right side.

Took a little ride, my first other than taking the long way to/from work. Was only about 180 miles but there's this road west of Lenoir, NC I've been wanting to check out. Now there's another road I want to check out. I need another bike.....if only I had a sugar daddy........

ETA pics

About 7 miles into the "adventerous" part of Hwy 90 I had to take a break. I came across a one-lane bridge a little past the Mortimer picnic area out in the boonies of Pisgah National Forest

Yesterday I rode mine into Baton Rouge to meet Mrs. Redfish for lunch. I was feeling like Fonzie until I got to the motorcycle parking spot in the parking garage. I parked next to a Honda Rebel with ammo can side cases and 23,238 miles on the odometer. I have parked next to that bike many times but somehow yesterday it hit me that sometimes the fastest and most expensive bike in the lot, is not the coolest.

Oh yeah, this happened to me the other day whilst gassing up for the week's commute: you know when you have a leisurely day and you take a leisurely ride how you tend to look around a lot more and see stuff and you tell yourself, "self, now there's something you don't see every day"? So I fill up and as I'm throwing my leg over some guy from a pump over yonder comes over, helmet on & tinted visor down, and throws out his hand like we're long lost buds. Of course, I have no frikkin idea who this dude is but I shake his hand, rudely, without standing, 'cause, well, I'm riding a bike. So the dude yells through his visor something like, "man, I seen the V46 sticker on your trunk there and anybody who's cool with Rossi is cool with me!" He's pumping my hand like he's gonna get milk from it and I have no idea WTF he's talking about. Then poof! he's gone so I take a moment to try to figure it all out & realize- it's a Givi trunk. Model V46. Has a sticker on the side. What a dork....
