Just got done watching my vikes eat a kock. Wasn't fun. When do quarterbacks learn how to throw?

Changed DOT 4 fluid in brakes and clutch. Interesting note, both the clutch and front brake reserviors' fluid appeared darker than the rear brake reservior that is tucked in out of the elements.

Also installed Signal Dynamics red and amber 3" LED light bars on the back. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will show my setup.

Put on Decals from RealtimeIndustries - awaiting the Rear Case ones but these look nice i think

Before and after flash and no flash

Actually...Good for you. Hope it helps things out you 6ft tulip.

Hi Bustanut,

Congratulations on the sale, saddened to read that your back pain forced you off your FJR. Hope you stay around this FORUM with you knowledge and (questionable) sense of humour.

All hail the Oracle.

Best regards

Installed a Clearwater Voltage Sentry. Rather than a Datel meter with numbers that don't mean much to Fontanaman, not to mention avoiding plastic cutting, the Voltage Sentry appeals to Fontanaman's sensibilities. And to honor the days of my youth it has blinking red, yellow and green lights, far out man.

Finished installing up the plastic today. Did not miss a single darn fastener either. Yes!

Cleaned and lubed rear brake pedal pivot. Used marine grade grease. Easy peasy. Put the cotter key on the outside - what dolt at Yamaha decided to put it where it is not accessible? My bike has 36k miles, I don't ride it in the rain on purpose so the pivot shaft had just a little corrosion. Good to catch it now.

Apparently I had Grape-Ape'd the aft lower mounting screw for the left front cowling (the one you remove every oil change to keep from getting oil all over that foam block). I installed a Time-Sert, easy breezy. I highly recommend them over HeliCoils.

Where did you get this and how much? This might be a good thing to have in my tool chest.

Right on, I ordered me a classic 1.5" diameter analog voltmeter .... I will need to cut though :( , yet got me from extrememmarine a donor piece for cheap....so if I am focking up, I'm good for another try :) .

Oh more thing before putting back on all the plastic I completed a load test on my 4 year old battery. It checked out ok. Then back to the tender it went.

Yeah I really like the blinking lights.

It reminds me of this little bit of prose from the 1980's.

ACHTUNG! ALLES LOOKENSPEEPERS!

That little kit in the picture (minus the T-handle) with three extra stainless steel inserts was $70 and it only does the one thread size. It includes the correct size drill bit, counterbore tool, tap sized for the outer dimension of the insert, insert driver and 5 steel inserts of medium length. I wanted stainless steel inserts, so I added three of different lengths to my order.

They also sell mini-master and master kits from $240 to $415 that give you a variety of thread sizes.

Eh gads at those kit prices I will have to take up a collection. Anybody on the Forum willing to give to the Fontanaman anti-fuke up aluminum thread repair kit please pm me.
