Well, it was yesterday, but finally got to ride it after being decommissioned for a few months. Back problems took me out for a while, farkling took the bike out for quite some time. Weather ranged from rain/hail 38* to 50* and part sun. Did a little over 100 mi. around the valley from North Bend to Sultan, I90 cruising @ 80+ to small backroads and twistys. 3 hours, no stops. No hard cornering, road conditions too varied. Got to test out all the stuff I learned about on this site.

Many thanks to this forum and all you guys that contribute info and how to's. Entertainment factor: high

Mods so far: AK20's, Penske 8983, MV Motorrad bar riser, Grip Buddies, CeeBailey +4hX+2w, Mondo Moto Led's, led instrument lighting, FZ1 fuse block, AIS removed, WynnPro blockoffs installed, unwound throttle spring, PR3's w/190/55 rear, Cox radiator guard, T-Rex sliders, bag and trunk reflector decals from Realtime. Yep, I been stimulating the economy a little.

All stuff I learned about here.

Changed coolant, iridium plugs, TBS, cleaned K&N, modded airbox, hardwired for battery tender. Even put washers under the bar weights so they are in contact with the bar. Eliminates the effect of the rubber mount allowing weights to actually do something. Again, all stuff I learned here. Tech threads and photos were invaluable. Again, thanks.

The result of all this? I didn't know how good these bikes can be! Engine is much smoother at all rpm (yes, I used all the rpms)

Used to feel quite a few vibes through the pegs and seat, now hardly any. Right hand and arm used to ache after 30 min. After 3 hr I could go another 3. Bars are as close to dead smooth as I've experienced. CeeBailey is OK, big hand on the back over 80mph. I have a Cal-Sci, it's marginally better but is butt ugly imho. Rifle, here we come! That'll make 4 screens in the arsenal, maybe should sell a couple.

The PR3's so far are the shiz. All tendency to fall in on corners is gone. Yep, I'm running 42 psi front, 44 rear. Same as the PR2's that came off. Pr2's still wanted to fall in a little. The 190/55 rear does not affect turn in. In fact, turn in is better than it was. I know, new tires vs. old, but she turns in as easily as my FZ1 with new PR2's and Traxxion Dynamics suspension.

Still needs a seat though. When I bought it last summer it came with a new < 300mi Canyon Close leather seat. I need a Canyon Far. I can flat foot with bent knees, I need distance to the pegs. Thank goodness you guys told me about Russell Day Long. I may be on my way to the most expensive gen1 ever. F**ck retirement, I can plan to work an extra year

So, what did I do to my FJR? I reaped the benefits of being a member of this great forum and applied those benefits to a great bike and made it even better.

Oh yeah, gen1's rule, gen2's drool, gen3's just dribble a little

Wow, you've been busy.

Enjoy!

Put my valve cover back on.

Pulled my forks and sent them out to GP Suspension for refresh.

I've mainly been lurking here, but this is what I did:

I feel a test ride coming on!

Installed New rear Taillight. Started to install all the cowlings from the back onwardsThe smugler box so many bolts & srews. anyway should finish it up tommorow all going to plan

Rode Jackie-O to work this morning. Was 50 degrees outside. Had a couple of smokes on her whilst waiting to go through the turnstyle. Was warmer then I thought it would be.
edited for correct content.

Also softer and narrower than a Corbin:

When it comes to seats for longer riding without ass burn firmer is better.

I had both the Sargent and Corbin seats on a ZRX1200 and I could ride further with the Corbin than the Sargent, the Sargent was softer.

So far the stock seat seems fine for me on the FJR.
Two SS1000s on a Corbin going for #3 in April at Moonshine.

I got it back together enough to start it but no joy. After much searching and reading I discovered that if you put the tip over switch on right side up it runs fine.

Rode the black widow to work today. 28 F outside. I accomplished another feet whilst getting ready to leave. I put my helmet on the truck turned around and took two steps. Guess what happened next!

As i herd a noise and turned around it was sliding off the hood of the truck. So now I have to order some new parts for my helmet. DAMIT!

Is there a dropped helmet logo for my sig?
