On a semi-related note... I'm going to look at a new (to me) '07 Jeep Wrangler tomorrow if it stops snowing long enough to dig it out at the lot.

It's a done deal. The new winter NERDS-mobile:

This will be a lot more fun in the sub freezing winter temps than any of my two wheelers. Betcha can guess what the first modification I'll be doing to it will be when I get it home on Monday...

Congratulations Fred, she is a Beauty! I've been a Jeep Man my entire life, Uncle Sam gave me one to drive in the US Army and I stayed a Jeep Owner as a Civilian.

-Thanks, Don. This will be my 5th Jeep. I've owned 2 other wranglers (both were TJs), a first year Cherokee XJ, and I technically still own an '04 Liberty KJ that my son has taken off to Vermont, which is what prompted the search for this latest one. All of mine have been nearly option-less strippers (no AC, no cruise, etc.) all with manual transmissions, including this one. But they all have heaters, which is pretty important right about now.

I've got to say, the JK rides a lot more civilly on the road. How it goes off road is to be determined!

Put a plow blade on it and a secondary heater unit. What kind of a spare tire cover are you going to get? I guess even the cliché eagle would be better. FWIW, my vehicle has the same logo on the rear window, I just don't look out the rear view mirror.

Heater works pretty good as is, at least it seemed to on my test drive in sub zero temps. And the JK soft top is waaay better than the old TJ tops were. Might look into picking up a used hardtop for it during the summer when the prices are lower

Nice rig and I am sure it will be a lot of fun. I bought a cherokee laredo in 87 and if finally made the graveyard in 2002. I still have my youngest sons (1999) but haven't been able to part with it yet.

WeatherTech floor liners?

Congratulations!

Niiice! That interior looks real clean too. Bet the p.o. wasn't too tough on her. Congrats!

Btw - did you get a red one intentionally?

That does look fun. But I think the problem with them is the same as with trail bikes. Nowhere to ride em. The snowmobile crowd doesn't like em around and like the quad boys they rule the few trails in the NE
With that wheel cover, I guess its no surprise that it came with a trailer hitch.
Haha! Good catch
I wanted the trailer hitch. The HD wheel cover not so much. That will be the first mod made.

As it turns out this Jeep is a single owner car, previous owner is the owner of a Motor Company stealership. It was his wife's car so needless to say it has never seen a dirt road...

Nice looking Jeep. I love them. Any worries with those light below the bumper instead of up top? One good snow bank and they may be gone.Canadian FJR
Yeah that was my thought too. I'll move em as the second mod. ;) I guess what do you expect from a Hardley guy?

I betcha it came with loud pipes!!! :p
Sadly, true. A loud exhaust can is one of the few mods besides the tire cover and poorly located aux lights.

Btw - did you get a red one intentionally? :)
No not really. It had the setup I was looking for and at the right price, so I took the 2014 FJR color as a side Bennie. This will have to hold me over on my red vehicle fix until my B4 wears out

Upper 30's f here. There was still an hour of light when I got home from work. I hopped on the bike and got my groove on.

We are supposed to see 10f here Tuesday (a possible record). I am temped to ride to work in it as a "cold" challenge.

Clear and cold [with morning freezing fog] in the PNW. Went for a ride today at a balmy 37F...once the roads thawed! Gotta watch for the shady spots, they were still pretty slick...
