So put on yer toque and crack open another Moosehead.

eh?
Don't listen to that Wheatie guy..... Time for you to go on the Rayzerman Three-Phase Health Plan.....

1. Eat lots of greasy foods and poutine to keep the insides of the arteries nice and slippery

2. Smoke a couple of pack a day, keeps the blood pressure up to good operating pressures in the cold.

3. Drink lots and lots of alcohol to keep the blood thinned so it flows better.

PS - I am not too sure if this diet is Nurse MEM-Approved... but I'm sure she knows a lot of anatomy mechanics that can fix you up should something go wrong.

Here in the middle of the UK, we've been having waves of severe winds and heavy showers sweeping across, interspersed with bright sunshine. Although unseasonably warm, we've also had the odd frost.

Went for my first ride of the New Year on the 2nd of January, this was some of the bright sunshine bit

Last I checked we had nearly 10" with 2 or 3 more to come. Temp is supposed to drop to minus 12F tonight. Probably no big deal for the mooseheads on the board, but that is f'ng cold for these parts!

Rode up into the Black Range this morning. 130 mi. - maybe 10 cars . Gotta love the NFL play-offs.

Walked into work this morning, here in balmy (for Minnesota) southern Minnesota. It's only about a mile and a half, and I dressed for the weather. Head, neck, and upper body were a little sweaty when I got here, but not too much.

Temperature, -22 F, winds of 21 mph, gusts to 26 mph, windchill of -51 F. Layering of the proper clothing helps, kids. For those of you in normally warmer climates, be careful. Mother Nature can be a vengeful, unforgiving *****.

Better be careful there, Marcus. Word is that thing is falling down.

New England temps have spiked up to above freezing for the first time in a couple of weeks, forecast to hit near 50F with rain this afternoon. All the snow is melting and the fog is like pea soup out there.

But everything will be back to normal tomorrow with a high of 14F and a low of 8F Tuesday night.

Damn that Al Gore!! Where is that global warming when you want it?

lake havasu city...a beautiful 73f
The last time I was there it was 100 x 100 = 100º with 100% humidity. The bridge still hasn't fallen down, it must have been a UK thing before the bridge was disassembled and shipped to AZ where it was rebuilt.

I live just down the road from Fred and would add to the rain/fog that the rain is freezing on some surfaces like my windshield and the road drains are plugged with ice and snow creating puddles small lakes in the roads. If it isn't cleared by sundown today it will be ice lakes tomorrow morning.

-14, wind chill -24, blowing snow.

Going for a ride.

As a kid growing up in Minnesota I can remember walking a couple blocks to school (they never cancelled school back then) in weather like this. We walked backwards into the wind.

We had about 3" of snow last night. But it was blowing around and made for a little drifting. Forecast was for it to clear out mid-morning (blue skies out there right now). You know what?

They pulled the school buses off the road! In Northern Ontario! WTH! The damn munchkins have been off since the 2nd week of December and they get a 'snow' day on their first day back?!

A couple of inches of snow and all bets are off?!

Sorry, I'm having one of those days. As an adult, I'm expected to be at work if it's -51C, or if we've had 2 FEET of snow, ready for bear at 8am. What a raging crock of ****!

Steve, I think you need another cup of coffee

It's about the financials, Steve. The kids here were supposed to go back from the Holidays last Thursday, but as soon as the superintendent saw there was a couple of inches in the forecast, and high temps in the single digits (F) on Thurs & Fri he extended their vacation through last weekend. No need to heat up the schools for two days and then shut them down again for the weekend.

Oh, and yeah, kids are ******* these days too. When it snowed heavy we just bumper hitched the couple of mile walk to school.

Now a days if they caught them doing that they'd throw the kid in jail.
