Saturday night info.............

This year we try the Mammoth Creek Inn for a change of pace. They have some rooms they call the " Lodge " rooms, available at a discount price of $81, so act fast and book up now !! There are some rooms that sleep four for $155, but I'm not sure of the bed situations there. Check the website.

Until 11pm tonight ( Tuesday ) ask for Emily. Tomorrow ask for Leina as she set up the discount for the rooms.

Terrie Lynn and I are in, what time are the Bluestreaks passing through Grass Valley? we would like to follow if the timing is right. That is if we can keep up :D
Hows about Katrina's in Auburn for a little breakfast at 9:00 am or ???

I'm open for suggestions.
Katrinas is always a good choice. (Not sure, but I may eat at home and take care of a few early morn tasks on that one day off, however -- and meet you at Katrinas for the departure.)

SO . . . kickstands up time of 10:30 to 11:00 would be my preference for earliest time out. Otherwise, we'll be at the Lodge before we can check in, and with PLENTY of sunlight left for Friday forays around Oakhurst and Bass Lake even after check in time.

DOH, I forgot: it's Cindy who is the slow eater! 11 am departure it is!!! :p ;)
I figured leaving at 10:00, five hours riding and one to two hours for stops ( breaks, nose powdering, photos, fuel, bathroom, picking up other riders along the way, etc, etc. )

That should put us there at 4:00 or 5:00 ish. Time to check in and clean up for dinner or a romp around Bass Lake and then Dinner.

Bang bang -- pays to follow Dave around on the net. ;)

Scored a King for Saturday night, too!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Thank you again, you Scotsman!

214 miles from Auburn to Oakhurst down 49, but between LEOs with speed detection devices, small towns and twisties, you gets your moneys worth out of each mile/hour you can dial up. I figured 4.5 to 5 hours actual riding time.

10 am departure from Katrinas on Friday morning sounds good to me. :yahoo:

We are working out the logistics of a pre noon departure, if we can pull it off breakfast sounds good! I will let you know when we get it figured out.

Where in the f**k is Mammoth? Not to mention Oakhurst? Can you even get there from here?

Well, I guess I'll find out, since the Burleigh-meister has just made his reservations at both hotels! Yeah, baby! We're going riding!

Thanks for organizing, Highlander.

Now, if I could just find some Bay Area riders to hook up with... I'm taking Friday off, so I can leave as soon as, well, not earlier than...um, I mean, possibly by, I dunno, 8 AM? 'Cause I GOTSTA sleep in later than the weekday alarm. That's fundamental.

JB

In in Mammoth! I was the second to last that Emily was waiting on to book?! How may heads we have?

Oh, thanks, Dave! I appreciate the effort!

I'm confirmed in Mammoth. Sounded like our block of six rooms is full?
There were originaly 7 rooms at the discount price, 2 larger rooms at $115, and 3 of the largest at $140. That should have been enough with the amount of interst shown so far ???? The Roadway Inn is the closest to the Mammoth Inn in case we book up the Mammoth Inn and others want to join the party !

JB........I'll PM you about Friday departure.

I'm booked at both establishments. I'll be leaving the Napa area around noon on Friday if someone is going my way.

If you can leave earlier maybe we can hook up, since I think you have to go through me to get to Oakhurst, wherever that is....
How early are you talking about? Business calls you know.

What time y'all gonna be passing through Angels Camp, more or less?

Not sure yet, but I'm thinking mid-morning leaving my house (Concord), like 10 at the latest.

1100-1130
Thinking that if we leave Auburn at 10 am, and assuming we are not pushing it and do not stop, it'll be more like noon. Auburn to Angels Camp in an hour would have us blazing through downtown stretches of sleepy gold country towns like Sutter Creek at 70 mph. Clear the roadways and make it a free donut day at all the Krispy Creme shops, and maybe we'd have a chance. ;)

Now this trip is a funky little loop from my house...

...making a nice 1,100 mile or so weekend (hopefully on roads more interesting than yahoo maps shows :D

Cool! We're in. We're booked. :yahoo:

My youngest son, Sean, and I will see you folks at the Lodge probably Friday afternoon sometime. Or perhaps meet up with some bay area riders on the way...

Amador City and Sutter Creek are now by-passed to the Sutter Hill stoplight. 60 mph tops though, it's the new favorite hangout for the CHP. :glare:
