noticbly different feeling with new tires

Jim my used 08 came with the 021 stones, and the front was badly cupped. The rear is actually doing okay with about 5200 on it. Replaced the front with a 023 also. But did u know? they come in 2 versions. The one specifically sold for the Feej is the 023 GT (for Grand Touring). It supposedly is...

    Front brake sensor screw torque?

Just brought up the schema in the manual I got for my 08 and that bolt for the sensor is suppose to be 5.1 ft lbs. Have seen the doc in fjr tech and it does say 21 for same... shocking difference. Another diff with what I have and fjr tech is the axle nut, something like 53 on fjr tech and 66...

    Paralyzed rider rides again

From what I can see, you can vote once a day. So voted again today and it works. Also, this is going to end on sept 30, so I'm going to make a point of showing this guy my support everyday until then. No way anyone on that list deserves it more then him... imho.

    Remove and Install Wheels

Just did the front wheel on my 08. It was the abs stuff that made me hesitant. The manual I have says to torque the front axle to 66 ft lb. But the tech stuff here says like 52 (iirc). Is 66 right? it seems pretty stout. My dumb mistake was 1st buttoning it up with the spacer backwards...

4 days round the Scottish Highlands

    New Tires

Just put a new bt023 (GT version) on front. It's been awesome so far, new tire(s) ... what a difference. I'll be sure to let others know how it's wearing. The bt021 rear still has some tread so the new 023 will go on that later. But yeah, it's so nice to not have to fight the grips to keep from...

    kawasaki c14 vs fjr

To answer your question... no. The Connie, Feej and the st1300 are all pretty much in the same category. There may be slight differences between them ergo wise, but the differences are pretty small. Out of all the bikes that have some "sport" in them, these sport / touring bikes are much more...

    DFW

Hey wanted to chime in there too... in Coppell and would love to join in on a weekend day excursion. Need to get some new treads on first (bt-021 in front is just about bald), but will look for this thread and the fellow riders in the great dfw area. Glad to hear others talk about the roads...

    Another miscarriage of justice

I too agree, this is very sad and an injustice. We've all seen it before haven't we? it's not uncommon. What can one do? honestly I don't think there's anything else but making yourself more obvious? headlight modulators are about the best way imho. they are controversial, some say they are a...

    "I don't care"

yup I agree, one of the funniest youtubes ever... "you're so batshit stupid", "I'm gonna cut my dick off now, cuz I don't want my kids growing up in a world of people like you" ... "that's it, you've killed me, my goddamn cat is homeless now" (I'm paraphrasing, it's too funny to be exact) ;)...

Replacing my hour long stock seat

Since you've called these posts out Fred... First, it's not self aggrandizing crap, it's a different perspective on the problem... it's another way of accomplishing the goal, which makes it perfectly relevant. Second, when one says "as designed", that's kind of obvious isn't it? I mean if you...

follow your heart my friend, it's what u feel that matters. If service is in you, be it. Very compelling story, thank you for sharing with us. Great family! I'm sure they are exceptionally proud of u!

Replacing my hour long stock seat

Truer words never spoken. Really, if u ride the thing the way it was designed to be ridden, dang seat could be metal, almost wouldn't matter. What's the point of adding risers, plush seat, lower pegs etc etc, buy a freakin goldwing from the beginning. Hey I'm not knockin anyone, what it is is...

Great Ride in Arizona High Country

damn Scoot that just sucks... a large tadpole dick. It just seems like there's no end to the issues we have to avoid. Hope everything works out somehow. Sounds ... expensive. All the Best to you bro.

For my leg length challenged friends...

Thank You Sir, I am quite pleased with it. Appreciate your comment :) Scoot, the one I stapled back on, used a 50$ thing from Home Depot. You really really had to press the thing firmly against the cover and plastic, to get the staples to go into the hard seat pan plastic... but it's not...

For my leg length challenged friends...

Just to cap off this thread (if only we could cap off oil wells so easily...) Here are some pics of the seat on the bike: this first one is my fav, just a good angle I guess, of the bike: Next one, you can see some dirt on the top of the seat, sat on some concrete before riding this...
