This would be a better story if they had taken a 2010 in trade.Ride had two ES and one A. They sold one of the ES's today and took a 2014A in on trade.

Nope...I didn't want to know. Although I'll confess, the thought crossed my mind and I was doing some mental math figuring how much the upgrade would cost the CFO!Did you ask them about price?Rumor has it that their is a new 2016 FJR 1300ES at Adventure Motorsports in Monroe, WA.But its just a rumor ...
Okay, upon review I may be wrong here. I see the press pictures do show the guard on the right side, but not the left. I'll take a look when I pick mine up on Tuesday.I bought a 2016 A model today. I did notice that the press pictures do not show the exhaust pipe guard in front of the muffler. The '16s do have them though. A minor thing I know, but just an observation.

You are right, I mean about the right, I mean the left side doesn't have the guard, right. All of that said, I guess it's just a right guard. Was the press picture of the left side? Yep, thank you Art. I had the aftermarket ones on my 2008. They worked well and looked OE. I doubt if I'll bother on the '16.If a left side heat shield is important to you, forget about the Yamaha over priced shield. You can buy a universal chrome shield on line for under $25 and free shipping. I suppose the reason Yamaha does not provide a left side shield is because it may interfere with setting the side stand.
Thought that showroom looked familiar. I just took a picture of that bike yesterday from the other side.Rubbing a little salt in the waiters wounds...
Saw the '16ES at Adventure with my own eyes! Clutch pull seems the same as my '15. Under the dealer lights, the color is my favorite '06, '12 Cobalt Blue.

In retrospect I would not bother if I knew how little it offers on the left side. Just another place to clean and polish the area beneath the shield!!Yep, thank you Art. Is my grammar too copious for your diminutive comprehension? Just kidding!!!Another place to.... what?
What are these words you use???
Hell, I just got it home, and I'm already polishing it.In retrospect I would not bother if I knew how little it offers on the left side.
