A little over two years ago I crashed on my zzr-1200 and broke my humerus. Let me tell you, nothing funny about it either. It couldn't be put back together with screws and metal, so they pounded a metal rod down into my upper arm and screwed in an artificial ball to pop back into the shoulder socket. I was 55 when this happened and it took a while to heal to say the least. Still not quite the same and likely never will be. I thought my riding days were over. After about a year and a half I started looking at bikes again and bought my 2004 FJR.

I built a mini-bike when I was about 11 years old and two wheels has been in my blood ever since. At 57 years of age now, I figure that all sorts of things could come and take me out now, so I might as well ride a motorbike again while I can and enjoy life.

After my surgery I had close to zero movement and now I have full reach and can put my arm behind my back, so it will improve Don, but it takes time and PT.
