Obviously, the WV driving school for loggers is much better than the one here in AL.

Now if y'all want to see poetry in motion, follow a WV school bus driver down some of the lesser traveled 1 and 1/2 lane hollows after they have dropped their last kid and are headed for the barn - dem dudes and dudettes boogii, hell they have rodeos and such just for fun.

BTW, we rode 2-up for a 100 miles or so of leaf peeping on them gravel laden WV mtn roads yesterday afternoon and then I played up and down Snake Run (1 & 1/2 lane 5 mile grade that lays just like its sounds) three times after work this evening :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: and I have concluded you whiners are right - WV ROADS SUCK . So I guess I'll just have to ride em w/o you!!!

Whether or not EOM is in WV or not next year...I am doing those routes (all of them) and more next time I pass through...

And my *** is right behind you bud.
EOM 07 routes are just the tip of the iceberg. Come on over and we'll ride some gooduns.

As you know from past days that I've spent at your house, I don't need much prodding to get my *** out thata' way. I love riding in WV!

I was all through WV on my last trip to D.C. and, sorry guys, I just didn't see all of this dangerous gravel you guys are talking about. The few times that I did it was so easy to just stay n the wheel tracks. Anywhere in WV is fine with me. I liked Townsend too. I was in Townsend the first year EOM was there, but the roads there can't touch the roads in WV. The Smoky Mtn. area is just way too conjested unless you do your riding on a weekday. I have a feeling that KY might offer some good roads too, but I never hear anybody talking about it. WV is a sure thing, with great roads and fewer cars.

Hell, let's do EOM 08-01, EOM 08-02, EOM 08-03, EOM 08-04, EOM 08-05, EOM 08-06, EOM 08-07, EOM 08-08, EOM 08-09, EOM 08-10, EOM 08-11, and EOM 08-12.

I volunteer to do two complete routes, printable maps and all, for every month. We'll have a range from the North GA mountains around Helen and Suches, to the southern reaches of PA.

But hear this... I absolutely refuse to map anything that predominantly lies in VA. I am antiradardetectorphobic.

:)

I personally know just about every pig path from Suches to Shady Valley. Travis can still remember where his TN roots are. Jim can do WV routes and I know somebody will pony-up for southern PA. We go south in the winter months and north in the summer months. LuvToRide can lead the caravans headed west for the rendezvous.

Anybody game???

Why the hell not? I'm in! Getting the hang of the FJR and could use to learn some tricks from some other riders every month!

I could probably make EOM-08 3-12. OK...so what if I'm a cold weather weenie...I admit it. And, I have no electrics on my bike. Hmmm...maybe a winter farkle idea there! :yahoo:

I'm pretty sure I'd have to get studded tires to make EOM '08 1-3. At least for the first few hunnert miles. Then those studs would be a serious PITA...

Hell, let's do EOM 08-01, EOM 08-02, EOM 08-03, EOM 08-04, EOM 08-05, EOM 08-06, EOM 08-07, EOM 08-08, EOM 08-09, EOM 08-10, EOM 08-11, and EOM 08-12.
Now you're talkin'!!! Call me a trailer/pickup queen for EOM 1-3.

Have you forgotten that your favorite turkey huntin 311 lies almost wholly within VA? Not to mention 623 to Burke's Garden and 16S, 58, 600...........et al ad infinitum........so we ride VA the old fashioned way?.......follow our noses, eh?

EOM 4 - my FJR will remain motionless. I'm goin' spring gobbler huntin' my way.

Shhhhh!!! I'm trying to keep that one quiet.

311 requires a recon pass and then let the fun begin. There aren't many roads that I'm willing to invest that time in. But my next trip to 311 with new sneakers and somebody better bring a video camera and a stopwatch! I will take turns with someone to do pit duty.

:)

You guys are like sharks circling a sinking boatload of cutbait! I keep waiting for someone to step up and say that they'll take the lead for EOM-08 next year?...........And it ain't me, I assure you.

Jim

Wow. What a guy.

Well, I know nothing of hosting any event of this magnitude, and now I am looking at getting a new job at the beginning of next year, not sure if I'll be able to make it or not. HOWEVER, if a place IS decided on, I will throw in my hands of helping in any way that I can. Be that begging for donations for door prizes, hunting down motel/hotel prices, I'll help wherever I can. Someone just needs to let me know what I can do to help. I have a friend who worked for a beer distributor, maybe I can get a few kegs donated......

FYI, neither Jim or me had experience planning something of this magnitude. We did ok. I am sure not perfect, but we did ok.

Say the word, & certainly I'd volunteer any knowledge that I've gained to the person that steps up. Also, I am sure that Jim would do the same.

Heidi

PS... I like the keg idea.
