So it sounds like a couple of Upstate folks will have to leave mid-day (at the latest) on Sunday and be heading west? Anyone else have to leave on Sunday? If so which direction is home?
I only bring this up because Tom and I were discussing which order to run the two day's routes, and were considering flipping the order from last year and running Greens on Saturday, then Whites on Sunday. But, if more people leaving on Sunday are headed westward we should just them Whites and then Greens, so you'll have a head start toward home.

Either way works for me.
Whites on Saturday and Greens on Sunday would be my preference. I am heading home on Sunday and want to at least get to a slab somewhere before dark. My buddy Paul is riding up from Jersey, but he's retired so he can stay over at my place Sunday night.

Both days of the full ride routes will be loops, starting and ending at the Firesdie Inn in West Lebanon, NH.

Which coincidentally, is right at the junction of Interstate 91 heading due North - South, and Interstate 89 heading Northwest - Southeast (towards Boston).

So if you hang in there for the whole day on Sunday we'll get you back there for slabbage, either way.

The East - West highways are what's lacking in New England. So if more folks will be heading home to the West on Sunday, we should run that route on the 2nd day. Full route details will be made public shortly so you can decide on when you'd like to peel off.

Some folks last year even opted to stay over Sunday night and head home in the AM Monday.

Well Fred It looks like I will be in on this one. I will come up on friday and stay at my brother's in western Mass and then ride up 91 to meet for kickstands up saturday morning. My brother and I will stay at the Fireside Saturday night, ride sunday and then head back to his house sunday night. His place is about 120 miles from Fireside.

"Geebers" is right, CJ. Sure sounds like you're developing a rep.
Not to worry. They'll all forget about the old "No Show CJ" after after they gets a load of of you (and your wifey) on your new Black beauty...
Actually, Fred, I'll have a midget for a pillion! The wifey will be on her lil' sick-fiddy Bimmer! Playing by Captain Jack Sparrow's rules- "Anyone who falls behind, gets left behind, aye!" And her ass'd better keep up cuz I got the GPS!

Cool beans! Hope to see you and Bigbeavk both! Now we'll have to wait and hear from Mo, Larry and Curly. (It's almost Friday, should we hijack the thread and start debating the Curly vs. Shemp thing?! Or is this topic already covered in NERPT? )

I think Fred mentioned something about a door prize he was gonna provide to the rider(s) with the furthest documented riding mileage to make this event??? ;)

Really should not be doing this but . . . room booked. Will take the day to ride up on Friday and be ready Saturday morning. Will have to peel off sometime on Sunday to get back by late afternoon/early evening so if the poll is still open, I'd cast my vote for the Greens on Sunday. Either way though looking forward to both the ride and the company.

I may take on Hurricane Mtn Rd and Evans Notch (Rt 113) this weekend. If I do, I'll report in on the condition.
Perhaps Bear notch too. I rode it a couple times last year and it had some pavement warts to watch out for. Still a fun road however.

Has anyone been north of Colebrook NH this year? Just wondering about condition of the roads.
Bear Notch Road is PERFECT !! It was repaved last fall. I rode it once this year already and it didn't suffer too much heaving over the winter. Go mid week and you'll be able to buzz it at whatever illegal speed you are comfortable with (no traffic). Weekends, not so much...

My experience north of Colebrook (none this year) is the roads are pretty much always beat up and they are relatively boring. But at least the traffic is less...

I'm happy to report (twice ;) ) that Fred is right. As of this past weekend Bear Notch road is sublime, smooth, and very fast.... Sucks I'm going to miss this ride but I scratched the itch this weekend pretty good so that should hold me for a little while anyway. The 100 degree ride home on Monday left a little to be desired but otherwise it was great fun.

Would like to hook up with you folks going on this ride. Won't be staying at the Hotel. Lebanon is not to far away to meet up there' or if anyone else will be going North on 89 that morning

Hey, Midlife!

I may be one of the closest to your departure point of Barrington (welcome to the forum) but I will definitely be headed up to Lebanon to enjoy the group festivities on Friday night.

As you say, it isn't too far from you to make it a day ride, so... whatever you decide, come join the fun!! I'm sure you'll have a blast.

Bringing Harley Dave with you? :D

Perhaps he broke down (oops, we already know he broke down) saw the error of his ways and has an FJR now

Hello MaryEllen, Of course I read this forum. My bike is still at HD, still not fixed. You'ld think they were getting parts from Canada! I wouldn't be able to make the ride, that work stuff gets in the way sometimes. It should be another fun time for all.

Life's short and you're a long time dead

Just sayin' :D

A deal is now set for the ride. The following was snipped from a e-mail. "We have rooms available and the rate would be the same as last year $99.95 single/double occupancy. The rate is subject to tax, but does include a full hot and cold breakfast buffet."When you call for reservations ask for the FJR Green/White Mountain Ride rate. Cut off date is July 18th!

Contact information for them is:

Just a friendly reminder to get your reservations made if you intend on attending, as the cutoff date is fast approaching. ;)

I just did my last little bit of route scouting yesterday, so now the Whites route is all set. The morning route will be exactly the same as last year, but the return route will be quite a bit different with several fun little diversions. As soon as Tom sends me the Greens route I'll get them put together into GPS file formats and hosted for your downloading pleasure.

In! Room reserved, arriving Friday, checking out Monday. Just waiting on confirmation from FJRob1300 to see if he's in or not, otherwise, I'll be looking for a bunkie.

Check in clerk said I was the 4th or 5th to reserve for the FJR group today.

Fred,

Do you have a head count for this little shindig? My brother is still not definite, but I am. Calling to make my reservation now.

Bob

You're coming on Friday, right ? Doing the ride in one day ?

In case you're thinking of splitting it into 2 candy-ass days, I'll just remind you that I made the ride from Mont-Tremblant in one day (977kms) :p
