I will be down there at some point...
Where do I get the fuse box and grounding box from? The items needed/helpful when installing additional electronics.

This is the one I have.

Blue Sea 5025 fuse block

You're in luck... I have an unused BlueSea block. For Sale $45. Do you want me to bring it to Tech Day Sunday?
Is it a 6 or 12 fuse block? I just paid $45 for a 6 fuse.

Also, has any of our members had any experience with a Magnum Blaster trumpet horns?

I am fairly sure I am coming to this tech day. I installed the Magnum Blaster horns at the last tech day in San Diego. My recommendation would be to get the Randy harness. It made the instalation alot easier. You will also need a Dremel to do a little triming of the plastic.

Is there anything else you need to know?

6. I'll bring it anyway. You'll need 10 ft of wires in various colors to keep track of what is connected to what device. Check the fuse block to confirm what guage will fit into the block. Mine (not BlueSea) recommended 10 g. but was too tight a fit. I went with 12 and 16. Get some wire loom to get the wires wrapped and concealed. Battery rings, crimper. See you Sunday.

LaRoo: I think I am going to attend this Tech day and install the Magnium Blasters too but I am not sure we will have a dremel? Do you have one you could bring just in case. I have the horn and Randy's harness. I saw how much time it took you and I am not sure if I am up for the task or not but I am going to give it the old college try.

I need to look through this thread and see if I can get an address and a time. I also ordered a Datel volt meter and a switch but I do not think it will be here in time with all of the holidays. I have not seen you in a while Johnny and is there anything I can bring? Lastly, if I showed up with a tire do you have a way for me to put on a new rear tire? Just wondering....

I have a dremel and a very good selection of tools but I do not have a tire changer. As far as bringing stuff goes you can always bring the necessities: strippers, Jack Daniels. I hear strippers and bagels go well together.

John

I guess I can likely get another 1000 miles or so on the tire before I put a new one on so that will work out fine and just thought I would ask. I emailed FJRBluesman to see if he would like to ride up there together or not and I will likely be arriving right at around 9am. Should be a great time...

Oh sure, now 2006FJR goes, it's finally complete. It's an official tech day. :p

I've installed the Stebel magnums, no sweat. Make sure you have the horn mfgr instructions and Warchilds FJR tech intructions. The manual helps too. it's way easy guys.

See all ya'll there!

I have Andrew Lovelace at www.digitalmeter.com working on sending me out a Datel Voltmeter via next day Saturday delivery if anyone would like to also have one to install on Sunday. Shipping costs are $22-$25 for me but if you add to the order we could split the shipping costs by the number of people wanting to order one? He is not sure if he will be able to get them out by tomorrow but if he can it might be an opportunity to get one on your bike. I need to find a good place locally to get a nice switch too. I ordered this switch but because it will not arrive on time I will buy it locally. Anyone know a good place locally to buy one?

You are funny man FJRBluesman  I will bring SPOT so Johnny can follow us on our way up.

I want in on the voltmeter. Do we need to put the order in together? Call me in the morning when you get a minute.

Thanks,

John

I just emailed Andrew and asked him to just add another one to my card and you can pay me later when I arrive on Sunday. I assume you want the same one I ordered? Model: DMS-20PC-1-DCM. Here is some of their contact information and you guys will need to let me know right away if you want one and I will pay for it and you can pay me back. It is also important to know if you want a bezel or not? Thanks and I will call you in the morning or call me. Actually I am not sure if I have your phone number? One last thing, do you want a switch or not? I am going to make sure mine is switched. I did a search for item IBRRS and found it at a store in Cerritos. I could go over there tomorrow and pick up 2 switches if you want me too. They are very cheap but are well made. LINK

John - Thanks for hosting the tech day! Also thanks for the coffee and great guacamole! Trent thanks for the Bagels. :yahoo:

I want to thank everyone, even Richard, for helping me put my rubber dampener on the fuel tank. I was really puzzled with that one. Whew! All 22 seconds of installation had my adrenaline going! The longest part was removing the seat. :p

Nice meeting you John, Roy and Trent. I met Trent at Cycle Gear in Lake Forest a few days earlier. Always good to see Lanny and Richard too. ;)

I left early and missed lunch. And Slappy never showed to wash and detail my scooter. What's up with that?

More great Forum members.

My laptop died and is on it's way back to Lenovo. My wife does not have iPhoto on her Mac for me to resize photos for them to be uploaded? I can see all of the photos but I am having issues uploading because the files are too large. I need to find a website to trim there size before I can upload them. Pain in the ass!
