I will have to look into the spring and falling lid issue. My SHAD SH39 does not fall closed but Pop just installed a Givi V46 and SR357. The last thing I need is for him to blame me if it falls closed on his fingers.

Thanks for posting the information and the pics.

my SH50 doesn't stay open worth a damn. Was thinking of some struts, if I can find them small enough, but the spring idea is a lot better.

I looked for struts first, but couldn't find any that seemed to be small enough. Cam across the spring by accident, but it works well. Just enough strength to keep it open, but also easy to close.

The SHAD SH50 I had on my ST1300 never closed on my and it had a backward leaning setup. It always looked droopy to me on the Honda.

I just sent Pop a pic of that spring. He told me that he has not had that closing issue but of course he has only had the box about a week and installed it 3 days ago.

I rode my FJR to get the state inspection done that was long overdue. I also changed the oil and filter, and I gave it it's annual bath. Good to go for the season.

Made an add-on bracket for my aux tank fuel pump switch.I only had an hour to fool around with my bike today.
Phil, do you have a weatherproof cover for that toggle switch? If not, I'm sure I can grab you one from work.
I do not, that'd be great if you could do that! It's supposed to be waterproof, I can see a rubber o ring of sorts surrounding the toggle part, but I'd still like to keep water from getting down there.

Got it...

just gotta figure out when I'll be able to get it to you.

Love the spring idea on the top box lid.

A little remote control powered strut (like they put on the engine cover on boats) would be the cat's meow, if a small enough one could be found. Just think... You'd be the hero of the parking lot socials after you filled it with ice and brewskis. ;)

Got me thinking about these. I did it on a little KTM, but on that one, I could jack both ends and spin the wheel. The front on the Feej has to be a little work.

Not that much work. Two Wheel Obsession has a video wear he puts a buffer (Science book of some sort) on the top of a floor jack and lifts he front end under the engine to get the front wheel up high enough to pull it.
