Installed my Cal -Sci windshield for attempt #8 at windshield nirvana. (Stock->Rifle->Rifle+tuning block->Stock+tuning block->CeeBailey->Rifle + laminar lip->Stock laminar lip)

Bought a Smuggler.

I finally figured out why this thing handled like a school bus instead of a sportsbike. The previous owner had installed adjustable rear suspension dog bones. He had them cranked way out to lower the seat height. I didn't know. I shortened them from 210mm to 190mm last night and took her for a short ride and the difference is awesome!! Too bad it took me 5k miles to figure it out.

Restore the old ride height and upgrade the suspension, and you'll realize what an amazing bike this really is.

Hasn't rained on me in a week. Think about that next time you cancel: "It doesn't rain on Uncle Hud." (Sincerely sorry your ToH plans got screwed.)

So today was one of those days where I woke up having vision problems....I couldn't see myself going into work. ☺. It was a gorgeous day but I didn't want to walk in tomorrow with a sunburn, so instead of riding I bled both front and back brakes. I also pulled the brake pedal shaft and put a little grease on it. Shortly after I finished lo and behold there's the mailman with my new FZ1 mirrors. So of course I had to put those on too. By then the sun was low enough I could safely take a ride so I ran over to an "old bike night" that's held in Denver. Unfortunately most of the bikes had already left but I did see a nice old RD, couple of old Beemers and there were two old FJ's there, as well. I'm happy to report that the brakes work nicely and holy sh#t, I should have gotten those mirrors long ago. What a huge difference!!! Anyway, that's what I did to mine today.

Well, I pilot an FJR; PhilJet09 pilots an FJR and a Gulfstream. Who's juju do you think is stronger?

Holy shit, it was a long winter! I bought a color matched Smuggler from a feller in Florida early last winter, put it on the shelf and forgot all about it. When I get off work tomorrow morning I better figure out where to move my FZ1 fuze block from under the rear seat and get that thing mounted.

Did a little 150+ mile run with my beautiful wife. Perfect mesh weather, with cloudless skies. While going through a little po-dunk town (Bowling Green), taking a backroad to avoid lights, I ran a stop sign. Didn't see it until I was about to enter the intersection, luckily no one coming either way. My wife did too, and told me it was faded to nothing. Whew!

Upgraded to the PIAA dual sport horns, MUCH better. Finally after a year, replaced the bad flood light on the right side. And did a final drive oil change.

Put RED side panels on the sides to replace the stock silver ones. Looks SO much better!

Washed it.

Clay Barred it.

Polished it.

Waxed it.

Detailed it.

IT LOOKS BETTER THAN NEW!!!

Maybe tomorrow I will take a pic if the *blinkin* sun decides to show its face. The depth of the paint (candy red) is incredible.

Put Yamaha touring shield back on since I raised the seat to the top for more comfort.
