MM:

I'll be coming up from the Bay Area, and since I will be meeting people for the first time, I'm thinking it might be good to exchange emergency contact information in some form in case of a, um, mishap. :(

One thought is to pass around a sign-up sheet at breakfast--name, license plate no., cell phone, emergency contact and phone(s). Am I being alarmist, or does anyone else think that might be a good idea? Like many I have In Case of Emergency numbers stored in my cell, but that involves tech hurdles figuring out my Treo....

So how many for breakfast at this point?
Well, as is usual for me (Okay, everybody has to get used to Mike's way of taking care of business--anal though it may be), I've been updating the rider list (the first post) and the Breakfast List (Under that post on the first page), I'd have to go look but I'd guess 14-15. ;)

Edited:Post #8 on this thread, "Breakfast @ 0845"......17 that I can count (Where ever a handle ends in "s" there are usually 2 people). :D
Change of plans and I can get away for the day! :yahoo:

Make that one more for breakfast, and I look forward to joining you folks for this New Year's Day ridel! :D
Okay, Sam, I'll put you on the list.

BTW, everyone, I'm going to go ride part of 193 and Salmon Falls Rd. after church today. It can be "shady" in the twisy parts of the canyon and I want to make sure its not too slimy in there. That's the place O'vale, Bluestreek and I were sliding around a bit last year. I don't think that'd be a good idea for tomorrow. And I want to make sure that a couple of places will be open for a planned rest stop. Then I'll finalize the planned route.

You do realize this is going to be a rather SHORT ride compared to most. More of an excuse to get together and to say that we DID get out and ride on New Years. I'd like for most of you to get home before Oh-dark-thirty and be home to get rested for the work-day on Monday.

I went and road 193 two days ago. It was very wet and stay in the traffic zone, they dropped sand already

Monday is New Years Day and that is the day I assumed we are riding. Now don't go messing up days and scare me. We are riding January 1st right? Monday that is.

Just checked the weather for Sack-a-Tomatoes tomorrow:

"Abundant sunshine. High around 60F."

Jeesh, why don't they just call it what it is:

Well, in that case, I vote we DON'T ride that with the group. I'm going to check some alternates that might be almost as fun.

Yep, I messed up. That's what 3 day weekends do to a person of my, uhm, stage of maturity. I've edited the post to, "Tuesday".

We ARE riding on MONDAY, 1 JAN 2007. Your assumptions were correct. I remember the military definition of "assume"....I certainly made one of myself.

2007 is a Leap Year. Check your calendar--there's two Mondays. Everybody knows that.

Fuhnnie....reel fuhnnie! Okay, I deserved it....

I guess I'll just go to meet you all for breakfast tomorrow and hope everyone is there!

(today is Sunday, tomorrow is Monday)

Whatever day tomorrow is, it'll be 1 Jan 2007 because today is 12/31/2006. I'll be at Brookfields for breakfast at 0845. And, if I have to, I'll ride alone. :bleh: :confusedsmiley:

So there!

Just some information mostly for riders coming to sacramento down I-80. I was on Hwy_505 just out of Vavaville going to Lowes and there was aa team of CHP's working the roadway giving tickets. There was a spotter using that fairly new lidar shooting the cars as they come up over an crossing and started downward stopping and writting, yes, SPEEDING TICKETS. The team consisted of 10 cars and all were white with CHP logos. Just a reminder ride safe.

Iam sue they will be working in the area we are going to ride in.

Ric was it bradshaws or brooke fields.......ha ha ha :yahoo: weekend rider

Today while I was checking the route my radar detector went off @ 5 different locations....yes, they were there. And 2 County Sheriffs. Also a bad single car accident on Salmon Falls road where the EMTs were working on the driver.

This is a maximum enforcement weekend. Be aware and be careful.

Mike,

I had a great time. Great meeting all those I met last time and really nice meeting the new (to me) faces. Unfortunately, as my hearing and grey matter deteriorate it poses quite a challenge for me to remember more than one thing for more than 15 seconds. Errr, what was I going to say???? Oh, however, I will, after meeting everyone multiple time be able to put a name to those faces I never forget.

It was really fun, looking forward to many more outings in the future. I learned a lot from just "tagging" along and watching everyone. Brings the discussion about whether to stay right as well as other tips and tricks into focus. I hope to attend Park City and take that riding class.

Special thanks to Karen for the cookies and Mike our fearless leader, a really nice guy. Just ignore his "intimidating" looks. Just a big, hopelessly romantic, teddy bear ;) :) :D :fans:

Great ride -- and Mike taught me a new road in my backyard! :yahoo: For all the times I've been out Rattlesnake Bar Road to the east end of Folsom Lake, I've never been down Salmon Falls Road. That's gonna change BIG TIME now! Great road!

Thanks to Karen for the initiative, to Mike for the follow through, to Rick for ignoring his doctor's orders, to Patrick for carving great lines that made it a pleasure to follow you (2d behind Mike) and to everyone else for just being great folks to eat and ride with. Great to see Roger and Deb again on that gorgeous red Feejer (I covet that seat you have, though). :dribble:

Sorry to hear that Andrew and Sherri had parenting to do instead of riding -- it was a beautiful day and you were missed (even if the camera is in for repairs).
