I will be at Longstreet Casino on Wed night. Hoping to go hiking in Death Valley on Thu day. Will see if I have any energy left to come to Las Vegas for dinner with the FJR gathering on Thu night. If so, Don is 480-440-4666 your mobile number? In case I need to call to find out where the group is in Vegas? Although most probably, I will be passed out in bed that evening.

Yes puppychow, 480-440-4666 is my cell number. But, they block cell phone signals on the gaming floor; so, my full name is Don Stanley and leave a message on my room phone if my cell won't ring through to me!

That's reason enough right there. Would be there myself but there is nothing going on around here to make any money on.

Somebody give her a hug for me. :D

Hopefully I don't screw up this bike cause I really like it! Heading out early in the morning. A little nervous. But when I get back on a horse, I try to find the biggest one. ;>

(I haven't even done a whole day ride since the wreck)

Can't wait to see everyone! Big thanks to AJ for all his help already!

You'll be fine, Michelle, you've got a great brain so you'll be able to process the information.

Be prepared for some emotions to rise up. Don't succumb to the anxiety but think through each wave and ride the bike. You are the pilot, not the past.

If you need to pull over and take a 10-15 minute breather to get yourself in control...just do it.

You know I've BTDT and I understand the trepidation. Trust me, baby steps as the comfort level rises, nothing foolish and stay calm.

Breathe in...breathe out...breathe in...breathe out...

It won't be many miles until your former skills arise (they're still in there), muscle memory re-forms and your confidence will return.

It'll be good to see you again.

Its a tough call. Wednesday will be clear, and the road should thaw, but the riskiest sections occur just past Pollock Pines on the Union Grade down to Whitehall, and the ascending part of Luther Pass on 89. Those stretches of road get no sunlight this time of year. Most of the road we need to travel at higher elevations are built on the north side of the canyon and get pretty good drying and sunlight this time of year.
It looks like the NorCal weather is going to be okay for travel home on Sunday.

Has anyone gotten any definite road conditions for Hwy 50-Hwy 85 on Thursday Morning?

Tahoe Basin is going to be in the low 20s overnight, but noonish?

We can always take I-80 over Donner......

Mike, I was checking Caltrans cameras today and was surprised to see 50 at Meyers is completely dry. There was some melt water crossing I-80 at Kingvale, otherwise clear. With Wednesday forecast to be very warm and dry, I don't think any trans-sierra route will be a problem Thursday.
