Much much more to come later.. I will start a new ride report thread, as the number of pictures I have is massive. :)

Thank you for organizing this year Richard and Don. My first time ever in DV. It was a great experience exploring all the sights. If there is one thing I would change personally next year is to find more time to explore new friendships. Hope to see more of everyone soon, some sooner than others. :)

I wanna see some pics of MEM riding ***** on the back of that big Honda.

Canadian FJR
Baby, I SO get riding ***** on the big Honda(potamus). That was some serious fun :yahoo:

AND my ride back to Vegas with Reno John, well.....a separate vacation unto itself. And the day is young :p

It was absolutely wonderful to see old friends and make new ones.

Fairlaner, for all his British bluster and old-dude crustiness, is a great host. I'm glad I was "with" him though - he left people in his dust ;)

Until you're better thanked, THANK YOU, Richard ! :kiss2:

I want the cliffnotes please!

All riders keep the rubber side down?

Any performance awards?

Was RenoJohn's favorite barfly at the bar across the street?

Who took my place of getting shitfaced on Irish poteen?

So Reno John did show up. I never get a straight answer from "the dude". I would have been pleasantly surprised "if" I had stuck around

Death Valley, the Longstreet, the ride up and the ride home was great. We had beautiful weather the entire time, the mornings were brisk and it did get a little warm in Death Valley. Don Carver surprised everyone when he showed up about 4pm Saturday afternoon. It was nice seeing so many that were also at the SW-FOG in Taos. We also had the singing sensation John Dumke perform "Live" Saturday night!! Of course Richard held control of the pool table most of the time.

It was cool meeting Mary Ellen (MEM) & Michelle (FJRChik) this time around and all of the other wives & SO's that came out this year also. Seems like everyone that spent the evenings at the bar across the street from the Longstreet had a good time. FJRChik rode the furthest at close to 1400 miles each way

Another year making the Death Valley Wildflower ride a success. Rode home with BeemerDon & Donna until reaching my turnoff just outside of Vegas.

here is the reason we keep going back to DV every year.........

Old Friends.

Once again the DVWR was one of the highlights of my year and a big thanks to Richard and Don for putting it together and it was good seeing friends and meeting new ones and riding a FJR and a LIMO in the same weekend cant be all bad, and helping put a RV battery on an FJR was a trip for sure. Rode home with Richard until the 15/215 split south of Cajon Junction and then stopped at Chapperal to see the 8 HondaPotomas's they had in there and buy some stuff and then jetted home to Chula vista arrived home at 3:15 PM, thanks to all for making it a awesome time

1. That I know of, yes.

2. Almost. Waved over by CHP standing at rear of patrol car, 'reports of blue motorcycle blowing by cars at excessive rates of speed.' "It was a blue BMW motorbike, he passed me at ~120", I replied, truthfully. No harm, no foul, no ticket. And the guy on the Bimmer was phooking flyin'.

3. She moved on to better things than Reno!

4. Borkerfork to the white courtesy phone, please? (poor *******)

Did MadMike make it home ok?

Heard rumors of stator failure, high dollar car battery purchased, strapped to Tanji tank and wired to FJR battery?

Most likely Madmike had a stator failure, but the easy stuff will get looked at. Mike left Dante's View at warp speed and as his volt-meter dropped he bolted to Furnace Creek where the bike shut down as he pulled in. Thanks to a friendly service attendant, he got a great deal on a deep cycle RV battery. The rest is history.

Mike just ahead of the storm rolling into Gardnerville.

EDIT: Tom posted as I was typing.

Home safely. The car battery worked it's majic! :yahoo:

Richard, thank you for the help. I could have managed and you might have enjoyed the Death Valley tour more, but I thank you for who you are as a friend and as a man.

Sorry to all who "stood by". Rather boring...you should have left us to our misery and enjoyed the sights of the sites (Badwater, Artist's Pallet). We'd have been waiting when you returned for lunch.

For those who don't know, my FJR suffered an epic failure in the electrical system. I just made it from Dante's Overlook to Furnace Creek when the voltage dropped enough the fuel pump stopped and the enging died. I coasted into the Shell station.

I bought an RV deep-cycle battery and we rigged a jumper from the RV battery (mounted on my fuel cell) to the FJR battery. A little electrical tape, a 10' extension cord, an SAE plug harvested from a BMW connector, a couple of bungee cords, move my top case to the rearmost position, a zip-tie or two and....VOILA!!!....It's alive!!!

I'm sure there are pictures of the "surgery" and they'll be posted. I'm booked for the next week and weekend so I'll start testing midweek or later. My suspicion is the electrosport stator commited suicide....after 60,000 miles. Oh well...

No, Don. I unplugged one headlight to save valuable electrons. The tailights appear darkened because they're dirty...covered with snow-splooge from the trip TO D.V.

Here are my pictures. Not a lot. Enjoyed the ride too much and didn't get the camera out enough.

Enjoyed meeting some new people. Great Ride. Great people.

Mike glad you made it home safely. Glad Julie and I met up with you and the rest of the nor-cal group at the candy store. We really enjoyed riding with all of you.
