Hey guys I know there is a lot of macho crap going on about riding out in the rain to DVD and some people are thinking about canceling. Please don't cancel. Drive out in a car if you have too. We will have a good time and still go out and see everything. Be safe. I like my friends alive and do not want to have to visit them in a hospital or the morgue. I am not sure if I will ride or take my truck as I have to be in Vegas all week for business too. I will decide tonight.
Hope to see everyone there.
Yea, everyone should come, take a bike/car/bus or hitchhike. Just think you get to meet me. :yahoo:

I'm an ******* and a jerk on the internet

But in person

I'm a royal ******* and a jerk. :clapping:

johnny80s: Very well spoken and extremely appropriate. Death Valley Daze 2010 is about having fun among FJR Forum Friends, not being a Bataan Death March.

If you're going to be facing snow, ice and driving rain over mountain passes, by all means come to DVD in a 4-wheeled vehicle. If you've access to a trailer, consider putting your bike on it for Saturday's ride. Northern Californians have the major hurdles and it makes sense to drive unless their weather breaks on Highways 5 & 58.

Southern Californians are dependent on the Cajon Pass conditions over I-15. We Phoenicians have it easy because we can stay at the lower desert floor elevations!

https://www.dot.ca.gov/ Californians, here is a useful link. Just enter the highway # and you get the most up to date road conditions. Currently 15 and 58 are free and clear. Right now, on the Ridgeroute of Highway 5, CHP is escorting cars through the summit area for a 25 mile stretch; means frozen pavement at nightime.

https://www.safetravelusa.com/nv/ All is well, at this time, in Nevada!
we got a bit of snow last night, but the last storm was more bark than bite.
it was the first of multiple storms, currently a new storm making it's way in, supposedly colder and stronger .....we'll see.....

One thing that seems certain ....there will be spells of storms but also breaks between storms ...so worst case is one might have to time their windows for easiest travel.

Don, how are the furnace creek guys doing? ---The list that I belong to seems a bit slow compared to most years, but I'm not seeing cancellations like here on this thread ..maybe because they're primarily BMW riders and not so girlie?

RJ, at this point in time, I know of NO BMW guys backing out; but then again, the peer pressure among the BMW Faithful is wicked strong. "Jawohl, Blut und Sturm!"

I talked to my illegitimate ******* son SkooterG just 15 minutes ago, his beautiful brunette girlfriend GSJane is going to make her decision on riding at this time tomorrow. But one has to bear in mind that Miss Jane has only been riding a couple of years now; certainly understandable if she decides against her riding to DVD!

https://www.shadyladyranch.com/girls.html Spoke to Bobbi, Madame Davis of Shady Lady Ranch, said to say Howdy! Weather there same as Reno, cold but no snow!

PS RenoJohn: Bad news for Old Michael. October he'd put in his application to be a male prostitute at Shady Lady Ranch. Bobbi picked a younger guy named Markus!

Ya, **and good news for George Michael and other phags ....... The shady lady is about to put boys on the menu ...Just sayin

Bobbi Davis, owner of the Shady Lady Ranch, a small brothel nearBeatty, wanted to add male prostitutes to her stable of *** workers.(clicky)

likely preferred parking for FJR's and audi's ....Uhh, in fact I'll give ms Davis a call and make sure.

BTW, this is one of my least favorite whorehouses in NV (no liquor primary reason) ....but they're unique, no doubt about it.

Yeah, Tehachapi will be my most troublesome area. It's slated for snow Friday. Haven't even bothered looking at alternate routes, it's up and over.
And no wonder the Beemer boyz haven't bailed, yet - it's a damn good thing they gots koolaid, what with all the sunshine they'll be riding in, taking the lower routes and all... <duck>

I'm thinking about the trailer route. That way I'll still be there for the fun on Saturday and still be able to drive by and wave at all of the riders that are proving their "manhood" by riding soaking wet, freezing cold and wishing they were in a 4-wheeler.

My biggest decision is which trailer to take. Do I want to keep my bike dry, cozy and warm; or should I submit her to the elements to acclimate her to fit in and look as though she was ridden hard and parked wet!

"male *** workers" ????

Geez, maybe I can still fly down for this... B)

I missed this first go Don ..you must have added it later.
Ya, but I think over the weekend we can instill in OM the work ethic required ....perhaps George Michael can get him pumped up for the interview if you know what I mean

...and he should really study the requirements:

Neihart ...are you heading down to this gig??

Are you coming through reno on the way down? ~hint~

Or ride down with Rich and I.
Davy Baby, you ought to PM Miss barb and let her know about that drive, sure would make it easier with three drivers; getting South from Seattle to Amargosa Valley.

Also are you spending Sunday night in Las Vegas? Rena and I are staying Sunday at "Paris", have tickets for Bette Midler concert; could drink with you before or after!

RJ are you going home Sunday or coming to Vegas? nudge nudge wink wink......say no more.R
George,Not to be illusive, I'm really not sure yet.

There are a couple plans in place for me at this time.

+The most likely is to leave reno wednesday, go to vegas and then head up to Longstreet after a few days in vegas .....and then head north toward home from there on Sunday

+Plan B is to head down to Long Street Saturday morning ....and in this scenario I will most likely not be going home on Sunday ....but i would like to see some football

...LVegas sounds good to me and if you're looking for a partner in crime, I'll be your huckleberry.

Immoral, illegal, or just not right -count me in.

We could aim for vegas sunday morning, (I'll surely be grabbing a room for the night) ....spend the day violating bars and watching football ...remodel the town all night long with our full wallets due to the big money we put on the Jets .......sounds good to me.

I will have to make a decision by early tomorrow morning ....so we'll know then.

Well, you know Barb; the runner up to new guy "Markus" at The Shady Lady is from Citrus Heights, California. You wouldn't have to go all the way to Beatty, NV!

Of course, Bobbi - Madame of The Ranch, was not overly impressed with his "resume"; if you know what I'm saying. She also mentioned he was somewhat old.

If you can, Bring the trailer big enough for 2 bikes. My rear tire is questionable, And i plan on riding till it within SkooterG's minimum specs... ;) A backup plan is always nice to have.

It is currently raining here in buckets. My yard is now a lake, my roof looks as though it's been transformed into a water feature, my satellite keeps looking for a signal and I can't hear my television because of the noise being created by rain hitting the skylight in my kitchen.

My wife casually looks over at me and says; "you're going to ride out of here in this?" and then her and my daughter start laughing! I'm thinking, I wonder what the roads are like right now down by the river? I don't think the wipers on my truck would help in this weather! But then, Friday is supposed to be much better.....................I hope!
