So here's a cleaned up wiring diagram of how to wire up these dimmers.

DimmerModuleWiringDiagram.jpg

I actually already have a 12V ignition switched relay installed in the nose of the FJR (for the heated grips) going to a small terminal strip, so I'll just use that for the power source to these lights.

The optional on/off switch will be placed on the Dimmer Module side of the relay in series with the dimmer's red wire. I'll pick up the dimmer bypass control signal right from the high beam voltage with an inline 2A fuse per Justin's recommendation.

Fred had to go and one up me on the diagram .... (P.S. - can I steal that for future use?)

I modified our instruction page a bit as well.

OK, at the risk of making this more complicated than it its already, is it the general consensus that adding an inline 2A fuse on the blue wire going to the high beam should be the easiest solution ?

Didn't mean to show you up, Justin, just make it clearer for posterity.

And absolutely go ahead and use that diagram on your web site. Once it is posted here it becomes public domain, AFAIK.

FWIW... I whipped that diagram up with a little freeware program called TinyCAD. Pretty neat little drawing program for this kind of thing, and you can not beat the price.

As for the cascaded fuses, that is a common strategy for exactly this kind of application. Like I said already, the Yamaha engineers used it by cascading all of the regular fuses with the Main fuse. This will work fine and is inexpensive.

Any blemish dimmers still around? I would like to get one with a pair of the LR10 Super Mini Led for use as fork lights. PM or just order on the website? However, I dont see the dimmers available under accessories, somewhere else perhaps?

Go ahead and order the LR10's right from our website, and shoot me a message when you do so I can make sure you get a dimmer included :)

Thanks!

Done, ordered a set and PM sent. Thanks! (order reference #1832)

Thanks - Going out today :)

Some other notes for this thread:

1. I'm still working through getting the dimmer only orders out. It's been a hectic few weeks. They will all be out by the end of this week.

2. I made some updates to the dimmer instructions page, and I hope everything is clear now: https://ledrider.com/dimmer-wiring/

3. Thanks FJR forum members :)

Got my LR62s today Justin.

That there is some pretty darn impressive order processing -n- shipping.

They really look great and will be installing them this weekend. May have to fab up new brackets, but really won't know for sure until I bring the lights down to the shed. I think they'll compliment the floods I have on there now.

Thanks a bunch Justin.

BTW, which is the correct space for entering the Code? The top box or the bottom one? I entered it in the top one.

Yeap - that's why I'm giving this batch away dirt cheap

You can scrape the excess off with a blade if it bugs you. Next batch I'm going with an O-ring sealed box and 5 core RVV wire with a waterproof grommet. Ya live, Ya learn :/

Homemade jaabers. Mount underneath the mirrors and then bent outwards. Had them protrude just far enough for the Realtime lights to fit relatively close to the fairing. But no biggie if I need to re-do. #1 priority is massive lighting without the massive costs.

Oh WTH, just ordered a set of the LR4's with dimmer from your website, and mirror brackets from 08FJR4ME. Now I have a couple of projects to complete.

I like cheap and dirty!

Anxiously awaiting arrival of my C&D dimmer. Have 1st coat of paint on the WynPro brackets. If the dimmer gets here this week I should be able to do the install over the weekend.

Certainly won't be busy going on any motorcycle rides this weekend.

Fred - you're the very next one to go out on my list for dimmers, so it will be in the mail today. I splurge a few extra bucks and put in a small flat rate priority box, so you should get it Saturday

One the latest batch I started using Permatex silicon to seal the case. Much cleaner looking now. The only messy looking part still, is here the wiring is sealed.

Here's the latest batch
