Justin -- When do you anticipate the dimmers will be available?

Finished the Skene IQ-170 install on the Tenere today...thinking I want to go with yours for the FJR.

Should be the second half of January. I have no solid ETA yet. Final payment for design/engineering and the first batch were sent a few days ago.

The high beam wire attachment at least on the Gen2 is relatively easy to attach. Most likely you will have the pannels off anyway for access. I just soldered the lead a little longer and stuck it in the back side if the connector. then tie rapped it around the bundle of wires. If I have a chance I will post a picture later.

Dave
Dave, any chance for a pic?

Here it is finally. Sorry for the wait. You will have to pull back the sheath to poke the wire inside the connector. I soldered a lead on the end of the wire and pushed it down in there. Seem to be stuck in there pretty good. I then took a pointy scribe and kind of push on the connector down inside to try a crimp it somewhat. Next I tie rapped the wires tight so it couldn't pull out. This connector is attached to the frame and you can pull it off to work on. If your sitting on the bike it is on the left side and you have to remove the upper panel with the knob to access it. On the Gen2's at least. Good luck

Dave

If you are using a posi-tap to connect to the yellow headlight wire for the high beam trigger this is an easy place to make the connection:

This is an Officially Stolen Picture avoiding all payment and credit to the actual picture poster.

It looks like the posi tap is on the GREEN wire, am I looking at it right?
Yes, in the picture the tap is on the GREEN wire, ignore that, you want the YELLOW wire. The picture was to illustrate the YELLOW wire's location, not the tap location. I stole that picture from Gary H., he was installing something else, but I thought it showed the YELLOW headlight wire quite well.

Gotcha! Just wanted to make sure. I think I have a posi tap left over from the photon blaster install, so that will work out

Not that I'm anxious or anything….but I have the wiring ready…like a crib waiting for the baby! LOL!

I just wanted to share some LEDrider news:

Dimmers will be in very soon. Price point will put them at about $30 each with the permanent FJR Forum discount
smile.png
. If you need a simple, robust dimmer, that eliminates the need for a secondary switch - this will have you covered!

Within the next few weeks we'll be introducing our new 4.5 inch, single LED, 25 watt spot light. We'll be doing a one time group buy deal on these, so make sure to check back if you're interested. After that, our normal pricing will be in effect. These will be the best lumen per dollar value on the market!

For now, here's some teaser pics

Massive light throw needs big reflectors - these lights are comparable in size to a 4-4.5 Inch HID:

When we say "spot", we're not kidding

. These lights throw far and TIGHT.

Optional clear and yellow snap-on covers allow you to tailor the beam to your needs in as much time as it takes to pop the lens covers on!

More details coming soon. Any questions? Post them here!

Do you think the new lights will work with Dave's mounting brackets?

I would say at this time yes. I may have to upsize the the hardware and provide a Larger screw hole in the bracket. If Jason can tell me the new screw size I can confirm that for sure.

I'll send Dave specs when I get the first batch in hand. They are substantially larger than the LR4's. I'm not an engineer, but I'd think Dave's design is very strong with the brackets laying flat as they do. The mounting harder is also much thicker, so the screw head would probably have to be recessed on the Gen1 at least. The Gen2 has that handy gap there.

I need to start thinking about purchasing a pair soon. Currently running 2 pairs of Realtime lights (1800's & 3200's) but 1 light is burned out. Probably caused by a low side sometime ago. Need some downrange punch but that new light looks just a bit too heavy.

What would you suggest Justin?

What brackets do you have on your bike? I can't make it out in your avatar picture. Do you have a picture of your current setup?

Jason,

Is there any comparison data as compared to the LR4's. I assume the larger light is a single LED looking at the lenz and reflector. Would you know the difference in lumen output at this time? Is the pattern of light simular to the LR4? I am very pleased with the amount of light that the LR4's put out in front and to the sides. I can't imagine what these will do.

Dave
