    Utility of heated seat

Brodie makes a lot of good points. I have a Corbin with heat and have thought about removing the switch and installing a heat troller. Quite often I find myself turning it off and on because it gets too hot. On the Corbin the switch to a heat troller would be an easy modification As was...

Anyone using the SPOT Connect Satellite Communicator?

SPOT Connect DOES NOT work off of cell coverage, it uses GPS signal just like SPOT 1 & 2. The smart phone is simply an interface which allows the ability to send custom messages via satellite. To the OP, I have yet to use one, but the new Connect seems like an even better alternative to the...

Using an iTouch as a GPS unit?

Any of the docks the OP listed allow the iPod/iPhone to work as a stand alone GPS without a data connection. They include the software.

Using an iTouch as a GPS unit?

I think you have all missed a key part of the OP's post. He would be buying a docking station that includes a GPS receiver. This allows the use of the device without having to rely on a data connection. The only drawback would be the small screen size and lack of weather protection. One other...

    No more helmet speakers!

Different types and sizes of tips can be bought for the ER6i's. I found the flanges that came with them were too large, I bought the smaller ones and find them to be very comfortable now. You can buy foam ones simlar to the foam earplugs also. https://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er6i-acc.aspx

    Chatterbox users

If you are using the DC hardwire accessory from Chatterbox it has a noise filter to prevent noise from your electrical system. I've been planning on installing one myself so I dont have to charge the damn thing when on a multi day trip. Keep us posted as to how well it works.

    MD/DC/DE/PA Power Commander Tunning Center

QUOTE (Big-B @ Jul 22 2009, 10:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ferracci was actually a Yamaha dealer in the recent past, just for a couple years. They may have some idea how to tune those 4-cyl MV Augustas. My experience with Ferracci was really slow service. Karns looks good too, and they...

    Corbin Heated Seat Option

I have the heated seats and ride often in sub freezing temperatures. To be honest, I find the seat gets way too hot. I wear a heated liner and heated gloves and dont feel the seat gives much additional warmth. Save the money on the heat option for the seat and just buy a heated liner and...

    FJR corbin seat

Picked up a used Corbin with heat last fall for a killer price. Having used it on a few rides I can say it is more comfortable than the stock seat, for me at least. That being said, I have sat on Corbins and Russels on a few FJR's. The Russell seemed WAY more comfortable. I originally was going...

Eligiable for new phone and I had a thought...

I may be wrong, but don't most carriers charge extra to use GPS on a phone? Seems to me that in the long run it would be cheaper to buy a dedicated GPS versus paying a monthly fee to use it on a phone.

    Knee Protection

Icon Leg Armor. I wear these when I just want to wear jeans or am commuting to work in cargos. I had a truck t-bone me and I went sliding down the road with these on. Not a scratch on me even though I landed on my knee. Hell, the armor barely had a scratch on it. The armor stays in place and...

ZX14s Parkway lane spliting at 150 MPH

Guy on the red one has terrible form. Half the time is turning right but leaning left. It takes mad skilz to ride fast on the highway.

    Sliding or rolling

I'd rather suffer road rash from a slide than broken bones from a roll. During my recent get off (T-boned by a truck at low speed) I did neither. Just kind of hit the ground and stayed there. Didn't have the chance to practice either rolling or sliding. :P

    Wear Gear, Buy Frame Sliders!!!

Not that I know of although I may be wrong.I'm a firm believer in wearing gear. This incident just proves it even more to me. Exactly, his policy will take the hit, although being with the same carrier can't hurt.
